They say there are no stupid questions, but this one is pretty close. I have a bunch of gardening books that say e.g. medlars should be planted in a 10' circle. Do they mean radius or diameter? In other words, should my medlars be only 10' away from each other (5' radius), or should they be 20' away?
"Plant in a 10' circle" - is that radius or diameter?
This plant file ( http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/53309/ ) shows 20' to 30' spacing.
This on says 20 foot crown. http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/376/
This one http://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/profile.aspx?pid=131 says 15'
So I think that is 20' diameter.
