The Vibernum along my fence has been dying for the last couple of years. It all started when my 20+ yr old Bradford Pear Tree got something that caused it's trunk to start splitting and bark coming off, then died after a pretty blooming period. The adjoining Virbernums started getting the same thing. Two arborists came out and could not identify what was going on. We did a soil sample test and the soil was diagnosed as healthy. The tree was cut down a year ago and the Vibernum are still struggling. Parts of the shrub are healthy with new growth while other parts of the same shrub are dying. Does anyone know what might be going on?
A disease in Sandanqua Vibernum
Possibly a fungal infection called Botryosphaeria Dieback?

After studying the shrubs and researching, I believe you are right about this diagnosis. Thank you so much for your help!
