I have been battling scale on my crotons for a while and am losing. Recently purchased Sevin, per HD, and I can't really say that it is doing the job.
Is there any systemic that would work? Or what should I use?
Please help.
Thanks,
Hap
Scales on my 4 cordons.
Bayer Advanced Tree and Shrub (or the generic equivalent) should do the trick.
I thank you so much, my plants thank you so much.
Hugs,
Hap
i get rid of scale with a generic cooking spray like pam. it smothers the scale very well. it's possible that it will lose leaves but they will come back.
WOW, tracks. who would have thunk?
Thanks,
Hap
:-)
Brown scale is the adult form. You need to treat when you see the fleshy greenish young ones. Also I would use some of the oils that are available at your garden shop. You need to stay on them as they can be very hard to eliminate. I would remove leaves with heavy infestations then treat.
pm,
Unfortunate.y, on one bush that would be almost all the leaves? UGH!!!
Have to get under the leave for the tiny things, right?
Hap
it's easier just to trim them back and spray the stems. i've totally stripped mine like this before and the new leaves come out fast and healthy.
Ouch, that is going to hurt. I have four in large pots around the pool and they are beautiful. Have to think about having for pots of stems!!!!!
Thanks
Hap
