I'd like to start planting spreading ground cover. Which mulch would be best to use around the new plants?
Starting ground cover
Hi Janet. I would recommend an organic mulch like fine bark with a bit of granular fertilizer added...your groundcovers will spread across the top of the mulch and the bit of fertilizer will help feed the spreading plants. Many groundcovers spread by putting out new roots along the stems and fine bark will give the roots a place to go.
Thank you for your response. I will definitely try your suggestions.
I hope they help. Happy gardening...
