I thought maybe it was Jessie's Song but now I am not so sure. I got a truck load of them from a person moving into a new home and ripping out the existing gardens.

The flower stalk is just over 3 feet and on one stalk I counted as many as 7 flowers/buds
It is an older form of plicata than Jesse's song. i would suggest trying HIPS website as it looks like a historic type of irises to me. You can get the site through www.irises.org whic is the AIS site & click on the historic site.

Maybe this one? It's called blue shimmer and it looks really close
that does look really close
Note that your flower has blue lines on the hafts, but Blue Shimmer does not. Close, but not there.

I would say closest to S. Francisco. Look at the beards. Are they yellow?
The beard tip is white and gets sort of a creamy yellow near the throat. Does it matter that mine has a wider band of purple color along the bottom edge?
yes, it would be one of the flower characteristics.
