RAIN....Whoo-hoo!..........

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, much cooler, it feels so good.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Sorry folks, I'm not from around here, really. What do you call that horrible pounding stuff wet from the sky on Rt. 35 somewhere..... near a way too fancy mall with an apple store and every other store in the world, then the gps took us on a wild goose chase back to Irving, Grapevine, airport, places I've heard of. It was almost hail but not quite. Yikes.

Talihina, OK

Carrie that was just a drizzle wait till it really rains

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL Grits!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

that was drizzle? holy cow!

Fulshear, TX(Zone 9b)

We got about 3 inches West of Houston yesterday. Yay!!!

Bryan, TX

Raining nicely now - in Wixon Valley -east of Bryan. Nice to have since I just spent SIX hours out in the yard today. "RECLAIMED" a 3' X 10' bed that has now been tilled, newspapered, and mulched. The truckbed has been emptied, the tools put away, and I'm dog tired.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Good job, Border! Enjoy the rain!

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

We just got a downpour! Don't know how much yet because I am at my parents but rain barrel and all buckets and pails are full of water. I set all mine up to catch water earlier this evening. Looking forward to seeing everything green up again. Amazing.Amazing what a little mother nature can do to make things look better.

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Glad you got more rain Tammie!!!! Y'all need it more than us! (although we'd gladly take some by now)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

We got enough to settle the dust this morning. :/

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

It has been just over a month since our last rain.. at this point, I would prefer to see it rain In Ruidoso, our house is in danger. The fire is about 1 1/2 miles from the house. Wind shift today takes the south edge in our direction again. Very nerve wracking. We evacuated Saturday morning but were lucky when winds shifted then....

My rain gage says about 2 1/4 inches last night. Am not sure how accurate because we had very high winds during the winds but we did get a good amount... very pleased.

Bryan, TX

LhasaLover - hope your Ruidoso home is safe.

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

Me too =), LhasaLover!

Only just sprinckles here, lots of rain all around us. But a gorgeous lighning show pre-dawn this morning just to the north of us. Got 2" even last week, so I'm not complaining!

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

I am over a month without the stuff.
Hopefully something will pop up in the next few weeks.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

It was just over a month between my last two rains.. you are due... tag, you're it!

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks Tammie! Here's hoping we get our share!!

Fulshear, TX(Zone 9b)

We're getting a nice rainfall here right now.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

We have had a few sprinkles.....and are expecting MORE!!! YAY!

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

Here is the satelitte picture of my orchard. You can even see all the little trees. It is red because the radar has heavy rain all over it. YAY!!!!

I LOVE those satellite photos! Thanks for posting your's. And yipeeeeee for the rain!

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

Almost two months with no rain at my house.
We received less than 1/2 inch at the orchard in that time.
I am going to freak out if all this rain around central Texas keeps missing us.

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

And just like a good pee after a long car trip with annoying relatives, I have rain.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

jujube - you are so poetic....LOL.

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL! jujubetexas, seems like we were doing the same at our house. We could watch rain falling to the north, east, west, and south of us but all we got at the house was lightning and thunder. Pretty but I was turning on the sprinklers and drip irrigation a little more than I would have wanted. And then, last night at dusk, finally the clouds burst and down came a gentle rain that lasted well into the early morning. Only 2/10". But it was steady and soaked in well. I'll be mowing again by the weekend!

ps. Thanks for the poetic joke, really woke me up this morning ☺!

Arlington, TX

Sadly none for me. I keep hoping though...

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

We had a steady rain for a couple of hours.....YAY! Rain gauge said 1 and 3/4 inches, but there was a little bit of debris in it too, so........who knows.

Most of the rain has definitely missed us in N. Austin, but that good steady rain yesterday was wonderful. Everything has perked up and the lantanta decided to bloom its head off. Too bad the deer came visiting before I pulled everything back onto the porch. :/

Fulshear, TX(Zone 9b)

We've had about 2 inches here. Yay!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Had 1/2" in Rowlett on Saturday, and fingers are still firmly crossed for more. After last July, when we got no rain whatsoever, just having rain "in the forecast" is reason for cheer. :-)

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

When I want rain I put this on and just think of it while I hear it.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

rotflmao! All of you!

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

Lots of thunder and lightening around here last night and many got 1 to 3 inches.. I finally got a 5 minute sprinkle tonight.. that was all for me. Happy to get that but felt slighted when everyone around town was telling me all about the rain they got last night. Boo Hoo... I felt so left out.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

We got some rain at my house last evening, not much but so nice!!

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

I love that rain sound! Thank you for posting the link. I can listen to it while here at work and it is not bothering anyone else. Cool!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

We finally got some rain last night as well! It was only about 1/4", but it was much needed and very welcome!

Fulshear, TX(Zone 9b)

Getting a good rain fall here, west of Houston, today.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

After having if start south of us for several days, we got 4" yesterday and over 4" so far today. Ponds are full and overflowing and the cracks are almost totally gone, the ones above the water that is. Did lost my peacock Russell yesterday, think it was a bird strike but he could have been in the large oak that fell and gotten thrown clear. Sigh. He was an interesting fellow who loved company.
