My neighbor (a renter) has an incredibly healthy-looking Meyer lemon tree loaded with fruit. Maybe that's because it's growing directly over a sewage pipe. She's been told that the roots have invaded the pipe, coming into direct and constant contact with the sewage. Can/should we eat the lemons?
Lemon tree over sewage
No! I read in an article that some contaminants and pathogens are present on fruits and vegetables that is grown close the sewage and septic system component. So, I think it will be safer if you don't eat the lemons.
