Plant in the East or the West?

Central Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

I'm planning on planting a vine. Please see pic below. I'll be making a trellis/ arbor. My question is should I plant on the East side or the West side of this pic? The East side is on the right hand side of the pic. I was kind of leaning towards the West side since it seems it might provide the plants more light. But since I already prepared the soil on the East side I was second guessing myself. Plus I would have to move some of the plants in the lower left hand corner of the pic to be able to plant there. Any help would be appreciated.

what kind of vine?

East sun is important but the vine when grown will cast the shade that matters, is that why you chose to plant on the east? Is it a permanent vine or can you change your mind nex time you plant?

Morning sun, noon sun- midafternoon to late afternoon shade best, give it lots of room

Okay, thanks! Now I don't have to move my planting position. Saved me some work.

The leaves on my loofa/ ornamental vine okra were as big as meat platters, your other plants will get a lot of shade! Chuckl, enjoy its a fun plant

That will be good for some shade loving stuff I'll plant. I need to get these seeds in the ground ASAP. Thanks for the quick reply.
