What is this plant?

Nunyabizz, PE

At a party at my house, me and some friend were trumpin through the woods when we stumbled upon this little plant. One of my more idiotic friends, picked it up and started poking my other friend with it. Then that friend jokingly rubbed it all across her face. They both now have rashes breaking out on their hands and faces. I have some in a pot in my living room, but here is a picture of it in the woods. My cat keeps eating though...

Can't help with an ID but please do not allow your cat to eat that!!!
That is lunacy, double triple when you have no idea what it is- many plants are toxic.
If the experience with your (bone headed) friends breaking out didn't make that it clear that this plant is at the very least an irritant, I will say it- remove that plants from your cat's living space NOW.

It appears to me to be poison ivy. Not all poison ivy grows as a vine there are shrub forms. It doesn't always have notched leaves. The berries definitely look like poison ivy. Some sites say it is toxic to cats when ingested some seem to indicate that it's no big deal. I'd error on the direction of get it away from your cat now.

I'd say raccoonbird is pulling our collective legs...Nunyabizz indeed.

The picture is certainly of Toxicodendron radicans - Poison Ivy - in fruit, and approaching fall color no less.

So - unless the poster didn't really worry much about this plant and its consequences back in the fall when the picture was taken, I'm questioning the veracity of the story told. And I'd be pretty surprised if this plant performed well at all as a house plant.

Cats are much smarter than that, btw.

Just having a bit of fun... don't worry, I would NEVER let my cat eat any unidentified plants! and Yes,I realize that is poison ivy. :) I would not bring poison ivy into my home!!!

Perhaps the poster would be better served googling someone to help with the other issue s/he is having..

That's good. I think he was doing a good job of imitating a burial location for a donkey.
