Need Kiwi Advice

I just bought an Actinidia kolomikta 'Arctic Beauty' Tricolor Kiwi at my local nursery for $2.00 in a gallon pot. I don't know much about it, but I couldn't pass up the bargain table. I know it likes shade, but that's about it. Would it do better on a trellis, or can I use it to hide my ugly chain link fence?? Part of the ugly fence runs under some pines that are cut to about 8' up. Could I plant it there so I would have some privacy when it fills in? It wouldn't need to go under the trees, I could space it between (they're about 20' apart). HELP!!
