I planted three different seeds in this pot a year and a half ago. One is basil, I thought the other was another herb, but I don't remember what and Googling pictures of the various ones I have doesn't yield anything that looks like the flowers. It also doesn't have any taste or smell. So anybody have any idea what it is? The flowers are lavender and not deep purple. My cheap camera tends to over saturate colors,

They don't have any smell at all. Besides I can't ever remember smelling petunias. By the way the blossoms are about an inch across.

Ok I agree. The next question I have is how did I end up with a petunia. I may not remember what I planted, but it isn't so far gone that I planted petunias in place of an herb. I know I planted some kind of herb. I planted basil and I think Wild zaatar oregano and maybe Italian oregano looking at my seed packets.. Is it possible that there were a few petunia seeds mixed into whatever I actually planted?
That is possible Doug....but it is also possible that the petunia seed was airborne, or transported by birds or squirrels.
What grew in the pot previously was aloe which got left in the garage one night when it got too cold and froze. I don't believe there is a petunia growing within a mile of us.
Anyway It's pretty and I'm going to try and grow more of it from cuttings.
Yep petunia, and they do smell usually. I know mine does.
