Like I said, and you may have seen my earlier post, but I bought a house and do not want to bring my little white friends with me (the Mealy Bugs) so I have been getting rid of infected plants. Anyway, I have a family heirloom Jade which I really would rather not part with. If I inspect the leaves I can find Mealy Bugs, few and far between but still more than I want to transport. Now, if I take that plant, wash it's roots completely clean, chop it off, leaving only the trunk, inspect it for Mealy Bugs, verify it as clean, and hope it Bonsai's. Will I be safe from Mealy Bugs. Also, does anyone know of a good site/video/link/podcast/book which can help explain how to Bonsai? Thanks so much.
Another Mealy Bug post
I'm not sure but I think you just killed your plant!!!!!!! Look at your other post and see the answer that was given there. Treat mealy bug with the prescribed procedure that was suggested and I'm fairly sure it will take care of your problem.
Iodine on a q tip also will work to kill mealy bug.
Good luck!
