I thought it was probably the same one, Happy! That's one of the best things about sharing plants... if you lose it, it might just come back to you! Mine originally came from LeviLyla.
I stuck some cuttings from my geranium 'Biokovo' yesterday, and they look sad, but I expect they'll perk up... I've had good luck with them in the past, even though the pieces I pull rarely have even a scrap of root, just a long stem below the rosette of leaves (I stick the stem down into the pot and that's what roots).
Sally, did you have luck with the 'Biokovo' cuttings you took in fall, or do you need some? I should have a couple extras, and I can try to stick some more (those plants are pretty bushy this year; can't even see where I've pulled pieces already).
Swapping & Chatting Ric & Holly's Swap II
I have quite a few of the Hellebore babies they are pretty small but there are a lot of them.
These 3 all have babies and in the last picture you can see the mother plant with the babies under it. Really I should think of dividing some of these big plants but I'm just not sure I will do that this year. If I do I will have some larger plants to give out as well. I will have the babies marked pink, white, speckled.
Happy, could I have some
Euphorbia amygdaloides var. robbiae
Sedum Ternatum
Tiarella cordifolia ‘Eco Running Tapestry’
Winter aconite
Buttoneer,
Do you have any Cinnamon Fern left?

Ok, can I get a pink baby?
Holly: I'm marking you down for those.
Happy,
I'd like to request some of your listed plants if it is not too much trouble
Geranium macrorrhizum 'Ingwersen's Variety'
Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola' (small starts)
Polygonatum odoratum Variegatum (Solomon's Seal)
Sedum Ternatum (small starts)
Tiarella cordifolia ‘Eco Running Tapestry'
Hosta Ginko Craig (small and variegated)
pretty please and I've got you down for a Mona Lavender plectranthus from me!

No trouble at all!
Sally , maybe sent Speedie a D-mail and ask her. That would be great..
I also have Begonia Grandis and Lysimachia clethroides (Gooseneck Loosestrife) (aggressive) if anyone would like some.
NOTE: I have now edited my entry in Holly's "Haves/Wants" thread to include everyone's requests of me to date. I hope I didn't miss anyone, but if I did, I'm not likely to realize it later because I am under the impression that I am up-to-date!
SOOOOO, to those of you to whom I have promised plants: If I didn't note a plant I promised you on my entry on Holly's "Haves/Wants" thread, please let me know -- it was inadvertent and I'll take care of you if you let me know. But if I don't hear from you before the swap, I probably won't bring you what I promised, and I apologize in advance for that!
To anyone who is lurking and not asking: Please feel free to ask! It really makes it easier to hear from you in advance -- I don't expect to bring a whole lot of plants beyond those people have asked for. I'd feel much better if I can bring you what you would like.
Finally -- and this is a huge caveat -- I will be arriving very late at the swap -- as late as 2pm. So if you are getting plants from me and you will be leaving early, can you see if there is someone who is staying later can bring your plants home for you? Or you can always pick them up from my house (just north of the DC line) if that is convenient. Or we can work out whatever arrangement would suit you -- just let me know.
Thanks!
Buttoneer, today I dug up 2 hosta for you. I'll try to get the names, but so many hostas look alike that I might need help with that.
Ruby, was it you that was looking for colored glass rooters? I printed off something back a few weeks ago a picture off of www.bitsandpieces.com website. My husband ordered a cane from them one time and occassionally they send us catalogues. I look through them, remove any pages that has our name/address on it and shred those, put the catalog with the newspapers for recycle. They showed a set of four glass rooters, assorted colors, that I thought about ordering for myself but haven't done it yet. I thought it would be neat decor hanging in our sunroom but since we have to keep the blinds closed most of the day because of the glare on tv, why order them? The item# 45150 called Autumnal glass rooters. Fall colors double as unique sun catchers..if you let the sun come into your room. Probably would be great over a kitchen sink that has a window or other rooms for rooting plantings via water. You might want to check the site and this item out. Sounds like a good buy.
Wow, missed reading a day or two and the chat goes wild again. Happy, seems that your offerings are making a lot of other folks happy too. I will check your list later. I had to laugh at your mention of Lemon Balm because I had just finished researching it and was coming here to offer it. So, if there is anyone who would like to have some thuggish (to used Sallyg lingo) Lemon Balm I am the one to see. John thought he had gotten rid of it all last year, but upon inspection a couple of weeks ago, I found a rather large patch of it. And it does smell lemony!!! Let me know, I will add it to my HAVES in a bit.
Have almost gotten the things I have promised to folks potted now. Only a few things still need digging and potting, but that will eventually get done, I promise. I would like to say the same as Hapy as far as requests anyone has. Check my list from time to time if you have requested anything and I haven't listed it. I need reminders quite often, though I try.
Looking so forward to this shindig.
Ruby
Thanks for the link to t he catalog Pippi. Will go take a look see. I appreciate it. Have you checked my HAVES list? I hope we can talk you in to some Day Lilies or Iris or something else.
Ruby
Does anybody have anemones, especially pink ones? I've read that if you have them, you'll often have volunteer seedlings... I've tried to winter sow seeds several times but the couple of sprouts I got didn't turn itno plants (or turned out to be weeds, LOL). I think they would work very well planted between peonies... the peony leaves look pretty sad toward the end of summer, and I think that's about when the anemones come into their own. Thanks!
Pippi I just dmailed speediebean, thank you for the nudge!
Critter, I have two pink anemones, same cultivar but not sure which - I'll have to look at the tags when I get home. I think this is the third season so there may be some volunteer seedlings, but I haven't noticed but I'll look. They bloom late compared to everything else - maybe August or September? I'll let you know one way or the other if there are volunteers...
Happy,
You missed the Tiarella cordifolia ‘Eco Running Tapestry’ 'want' for me when you updated your list, and can I add some solomon's seal too? Thanks, terri
Absolutely! I'm so glad you checked!
I'm thinking of ordering some Knock-Out roses from Stark Brothers -- they are cheap (7.19 each) -- I'm sure they'll be tiny, but they grow pretty fast. I'm going to put them on my front yard which is very steep so I need something that doesn't require tending..
Shipping is free if the total is over $75. I can probably hit that on my own.
Two questions:
Anyone had any major disasters with Stark? There's nothing too awful on DG.
Anyone want me to order plants for them, for me to distribute at the swap (again, with the caveat that I'll be arriving late)? http://www.starkbros.com/products/garden-plants/roses/knock-out-rose?utm_source=plant_scout&utm_medium=listing
I think there was some recent interest in my Big root Geranium macrorhyzzum , sort of a hot pink color- can I get a head count? I just made four pots but can make dozens more.
Sally, I'd love any big root geranium you have to spare. I had it crowded in a pot all fall and winter and just planted them in the ground a few weeks ago. Wow, those things are tough even when mistreated and they love being in the ground! :-) I can't wait for them to get nice and full. I think I'll start using them in the bare areas around the shrubs.
Happy_macomb, I got my Knockout Roses from Costco last year. They were huge, much bigger than what you find at nurseries and actually in very good shape. When I planted them I was a complete newbie. In fact, I think they may have been the third plant that I actually planted, and the only ones from that first group that actually survived my mistreatment and my terrible soil.
I have one Knock Out Rose by my shed. Love it!!!!
I cut it back a bit last fall--mostly cutting off the tips of the branches with the spent blooms.
It looks gorgeous this spring! I highly recommend cutting off the spent blooms in the fall.
So nicely compact and just budding out....
Will take a picture soon--using my NEW camera. Maybe on Monday!
Some of the buds should be open.
This picture is from last year.
Happy, if you have the room, I'd like to have 3 of the double pink knockouts for my garden included in your order. No problem if you feel that you won't have the room. Thanks again. Teri
I saw Knockouts today at Home Depot fo r$7 or $8 I think... Pink, Red, and Double Red (no Double Pink that I could see). They had some other old standbys also, like Don Juan (climber). Bare root and looked pretty good as well as I could tell through the packaging.
Also... Home Depot had a couple tables of quart perennials, limited but nice selections, and very healthy looking plants... for $2.50! I picked up an assortment and also picked up 3 extra Geranium 'Rozanne' for whoever had that one on their wish list... can't remember offhand... if you want to buy them from me, they're yours, otherwise I can find a place for them no problem. It's one of the toughest bloomingest plants for me!
Sally, your geraniums are starting to bloom here! I potted up a cutting of 'Tiny Monster', another hardy geranium... will put your name on it if it "takes." I should also have a few extra Geranium 'Biokovo' (white, with a distinctive herbal scent when brushed against).
Oh Jill, I'd like a Geranium Biokovo, please
I have 6 of these http://www.americanmeadows.com/butterfly-weed-cinderella Butterfly weed 'Cinderella' bareroot....I don't know why I ordered too many
I have a rooted pussy willow as well.. supposed to be french pink
I'll buy some of the pink Butterfly Weed from you Jen, if you have too many.
Allison I'd like a French Pink Pussy willow. Ric has been collecting different Pussywillows.
you got it Holly
ssgardener- got you for a Bigroot.
Jill, your Biokovo is doing well here. It's got more petite leaves that my hot pink Bigroot. THank you very much for tiny monster!
Here's a radical thought. I can make plant labels for all the Wants I am asking for and try to put them in the garden now...
happy macomb, strawberry begonia please? TY
Oh Terri you don't have to buy them...
I have a Salvia "blue and black" I can take cuttings from if anyone is interested -- supposed to be easy to root.
Sally -- I have you down for a strawberry begonia and would love your pink Bigroot.
I'd better get out to Home Depot and Costco today to see what is going on there (though, as my Mom used to say, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, so it may not happen!). Roses, I'm going to see what I find there before I order the Knock-Outs.

Sally - What a great way to plan for your new plants! I think I'll go mark some plates with the yummy-sounding food items and get ready for lunch. You have inspired me.
onewish loves Black and blue- did it overwinter in the ground??!?
LOL ecnalg-
IF I mark the spots THEN i have to remember where the markings are...the road to...
I don't see any signs of life by the black & blue or the sapphire blue out there
:(
We've been using the tall plant stabilizers to mark where paths are going, etc. Maybe using them or something like that for a month to mark your markers would work. You might not need them for holding tall stems that early in the season. I truly do think you have a great idea there.
That blue and black salvia is so pretty. Will have to show it to DH when he gets back.
I had B and B from fall clearance but it died of course.
I have RIC down for my pink bigroot geranium also. I'll bring plenty.
(By the way, my Haves and Wants looks insane to me because of all the red underlined "spelling" problems, usernames and unrecognized plants LOL)
I overwintered the Salvia Black and Blue in a pot inside. It never bloomed for me last season -- I bought it, kept it in a pot, and mistreated it. But it is quite alive now. If I would just give it a ray of sunshine....
It does like a good bit of water....
I'd like to give that black and blue a try
