Advice on how to save my favorite plant

Santa Monica, CA

I've had this plant for about 1.5 years....I love it. Slowly (but surely) it is suffering from some kind of disease or infection. I've posted pictures, but the basics are that leaves are turning completely brown, there is an fuzzy layer of dust-like film covering the leaves, the leaves are limp to touch. Any advice on how to remedy these symptoms would be much appreciated!

Its always a good idea to check the roots. It might need more or less water. The soil can get compacted and if over water the roots will rot. Let it dry between waterings. I think these plants would root again if you cut off a piece and put it in new soil. Keep it pretty dry until you see new growth.
Inspect for bugs in every nook and cranny. If you find something get the appropriate insecticide from your local garden store.
Good luck.

I agree with Helen. Also if you would like to clean the leaves just get a damp towel and wipe them off. It will actually help the plant. My own house plants get the same way after a while of collecting dust.
