Sabrina wasn't! :(
NE Pets forum #21
oh no!
my friends dog used to get sprayed several times a year... that one never learned
Yes, I've heard some dogs don't learn when it comes to skunks.
Glad Bear is okay, Doug.

I think the worst smell I can remember in my life was when my childhood dog Petey had a run in with "the devil's kitty". It wasn't so much the immediate skunking smell...it was after we washed him ( with tomato juice, I think) and then closed him in a small guest room for a few hours. Opening that door almost made me throw up!
We have a fenced yard so usually only get chipmunks and squirrels....but once we had a skunk visitor and I can't tell you how much I dread it's return!
If you can find mothballs, they will deter a skunk....we had to call the DEP for that advice..also they said to soak cloths in ammonia & leave them on the shrubs....our next door neighbor also did it...we had odd-looking yards, but it worked! Glad the pups are feeling better....my dog food was on the list...Premium Edge....but Suey is 1/2 way through the bag with no illness....
think the dogs are ok.. but you can get salmonella from it
Mothballs and ammonia? I think I prefer the skunk!
No, you wouldn't ....a whole family of skunks was parading through the front yards to get at a neighbor's fallen pears....we all had dogs...not a good mix!
Up close and personnel it's bad....Sabrina was in the house for about three seconds after getting hit and the smell lingered for a few days!
Lots of rabbit holes and baby bunnies right inside our dog fence. Wish I could warn or move the little babies with their little tiny ears and tails no bigger than a q tip point.
Love the little bunnies! I had a chunky Momma in my garden last week...wonder if there will be babies? Or maybe it was just a big male.....
There is a big rabbit around our garden. We both have chased it so perhaps it will move.
I don't think mine ate anything....just grass, I hope......
I don't like them one bit this time of year...grrr...they get in my containers to nest...can't understand how they aren't afraid with the dogs.
Very nice story....
he is so nice looking Celeste... Happy Mother's Day!!
What a handsome boy!
Right back at you and your Mom, Cyrus!
He's a great looking dog. It looks like he recovered well.
Cyrus is looking good, Celeste! Happy Mother's Day to you, too, and everyone else here with kids and fur kids.
Karen
Love seeing Cyrus, a real handsome fella♥
Happy Mother's Day to all the fur moms today!
Clifford is beautiful. What kind is he?
He's a labradoodle, but I told Rosemary he looks like my son's wire-haired pointing griffon.....
Yep, this rascal is half standard poodle and half chocolate lab. Some people ask if he's a wolf-hound, also. He's not curly like the fancy doodles in my town, but he does attract attention. Today after I planted a tiny Mary Milton viburnum, I caught him tasting the roots after he upended the plant. This guy can't be scolded, ever, though. He's way too sensitive. So next step was to put a wire cage over this one, and to watch which other new plants bite the dust.
Rosemary, he is a very handsome dog. Looks like a distinguished gentleman. Jerry is very sensitive when scolded as well. And no matter how many times he gets scolded for the same transgressions, he still repeats them. Often times when he's outside smelling something, or if he's on a roll playing with Patches, he won't listen to me the first 1, 2 or maybe 3 times I tell him to stop or tell him to come. I often end up having to yell very loudly and sternly.
Karen
Thanks for the complement to Clifford, Karen. Know what you mean. If someone uses a questioning tone of voice, or if there's something more interesting going on, Clifford will ignore a command. Yet we know he hears and understands it. He takes his job of guarding us from lions and bears very seriously when we're planting shrubs, though. It is hard not to drop dirt on him because he hangs over the hole.
Clifford is a great looking dog Rosemary!! I can't say I see either lab or standard poodle but I do see wolfhound...LOL!
Just a woof hound, Ronnie, LOL
My girl cat brought me a dead vol for Mother's Day. Good Kitty!
Nice!
I don't know how she finds them - but she does!
another update on the food recalls

I'm still impressed by the character in Nora's photo. Such a lovely disposition for sure.
DD thinks the research that dogs like pop music (Mozart seems to be soporific) is correct. Cliffie smiles and dances with her when she either plays pop music on the radio or the piano. He gets all perky as though the music is all for him.
The food recall is alarming because some of those brands are very expensive. What a bummer to pay all that money and then to learn the quality was a disaster.
I bet all those brands are made at the same place
