Found this really pretty bloom on Lovers Delite this morning. What is it?
Look at what my Lovers Delite rose did....
That is a beauty, wow. It is a cabbage rose, see those thorns. Not sure might be a gallica, centifolia, moss rose, damask, portland. It is one of the old roses, old are considered as such if they were introduced prior to the mid 1800's I believe. Gosh does it smell pretty?
Hi Kathy,
Yes, she does have an old fashioned rose smell. This is an own root rose that I bought from Chamblee's. Their information said that Lovers Delite is also believed to be Fisherman's Friend. I have had her for 4 years and this is the first odd bloom she has made. I think it is lovely. I just wonder what to properly call it, and whether or not there will be more of them to come.
