I have had my pitcher plant send up three would-be blossoms, but before they can open , they are gone. Doesn't seem to be chewed...it's a clean cut. I have a fenced yard with two dogs so the neighborhood cats don't come in. Any suggestions what might be doing this? I cannot find the missing blossoms in the pot the plants are in. Thanks for any help. Tina
something eating Sarracenia pitcher plant blossoms
Hmm, strange. Clean cuts? I grow them and never had that problem. Birds maybe?

ck below the soil surface for pill bugs or cutworms, they come out after dark and butterfly season is hvy this year, they can cause damage
I agree with Kittriana and also add that you should look out for earwigs, these are night feeders, brown about half inch long with a pair of pincher's at the rear, I would expect birds to scatter the flowers after they have been chew off, same with cats and other animals, slugs can also do this and are night feeders too. I would be out there either at dawn or late evening with a flashlight and see if you can get any clues as to what the culprits are doing.
Good luck. WeeNel.
May be slugs as well.
