My 30 year old Pony Tail Palm looks like it is trying to die. Six months ago the top rotted so I cut the top off and sealed it with wax. Now the top is looking like it is starting to rot again. I know it needs to be dry out so I water maybe every three months or so. I'm from the California desert and of course it loved it there. It has never done that well here, but it is really had a hard year. I wonder if it is just dying at the ripe old age of 30???
Please help I love this plant it was once so beautiful. Thank you, Michael
