I left for only one day and night thinking my peace lily could make it another day until next watering (you hear so much about root rot and people killing their plants with overwatering); but when I cam back, the lily was very droopy, basically wilted - clearly screaming for water. I watered it as soon as I saw it - but now I wonder how long it is going to be until it straightens back up. I bought it only last week and I can't believe it's already in bad shape even though I've been fussing over it ever since.
Also, it is true that I should avoid letting it wilt like this? If that's the case, there is such a fine line between over-watering it and letting it wilt. ...
When should I expect my wilted Peace Lily to be back?
Are you watering it every day? If so, I'd say you're over-watering and your plant just finally reacted to the waterlogged situation. Does your pot have a drain hole? I keep my peace lily in a cool room with only bright light (no direct sun at all) and never water it more than once a week (and that's in the summer when it's actively growing). Can you carefully lift the plant out of it's pot to see what condition your roots and soil are in? That would let you know if the soil is too wet.
