Hello everyone! I am home! I will go back later and read what your all up to. Dylan is doing fine, he is back in the hospital, under a special light, as he has Jaundice, but will be back home tomorrow!
I had a kidney stone and thought I was dying, a 10lb baby. OMG! What a cutie tho, congrats to GP and M&D....
Debra I hope you are feeling better, lung problems seem to be the rage this year....I worry about the antibotics that they say are on the verge of not working any more. Drug companies won't create any new ones because there isn't enough money in them. They want drugs you have to take every day.....hummmm is that why we don't have cures for sickness.....hummmm. Well off that depressive subject...
Went to the lawn and garden show and bought a huge crinum bulb, I will take an pic and show you. He was telling everyone it was hardy in our zone, yeah with about 5 feet of mulch, and a winter like last winter....
Then went to Menards (lumber yard) and bought a climbing New Dawn rose, so excited. Hope it does well.
Can't wait to see your huge crinum bulb!
I forgot will try to remember before I leave for work in the morning to take a picture of it too late now....should of been in bed hours ago....gonna hate the alarm in the morning.
LK hope your little sweetie is home and doing good.
Here is a pic of my big crinum bulb, in case you missed the other 15 places I have posted it, rolf. Wellll I just think it is so darn big I want you all to see it....so sorry to you have seen it.... ;)
That is a 24oz pepsi bottle so it is big, the bulb is probably a foot tall and my hand goes about 1/3 ways around it. Going to plant it in a pot tonight. I have read they are hardy in zone 5 but don't want to chance it.
Dylan is home, and doing very good! Eating like a little piggy.
Oh so glad to hear that! Home where he should be.
Where are you..everyone?
Not sure it's that time of year already but I have buds on an "Angel" that was left in her pot over Winter in the garage. Also Most every Angel I had last year that was planted in the ground has come back and some are at least 6" already. Goodness I do hope it doesn't frost again. Two nights this week I turned buckets and pots over my plants because of frost warnings. Thank goodness the frost didn't happen.
So excited you have a bud already Faye! How is Ray doing?
Froggie swap is open, jump on over and check it out!

Wow! Looks so lush! Wish I had more green where the red clay is - soon enough!!! :D
I am also looking at things thinking 'wow' because they're so big already but supposed to be fall bloomers (some) kinda crazy. i.e. some asters and my mums...
nice garden fruity :0

Sorry to hear that Faye, still sending healing prayers!
Thank you Linda Kay, I've never met you in person yet I feel I know you. Thank you so much for keeping track of me and keeping updates to all forms about Ray. I'm looking forward to meeting you and I hope it will be soon.
Some day soon Faye!
Debra, are you still planning your Texas trip in May?
June will be here before we know it! Our sweet Ray just has to get better. Not a day goes by that I don't think of all of you.
"Thoughts of you grow in my garden."
Love that saying Fruity because it is so true, I can't walk anywhere in my garden that I am not thinking of one of you and I love it.
Thoughts are with you Faye.
Cleaned the water garden, still afraid to take the tropicals out of the garden room, it is just April 1, April can be a tough month. Filling it back with water now, the fish I could just sit and watch for hours, strange because they don't do anything but swim....odd when you think about it.
Beautiful day hope everyone is having a beautiful day.
Hi everyone, Faye I am still praying for you and Ray. I hope to meet all of you someday.
Gardens are looking great Susan. Hay Susie how is Daddy? ARe you back in the swing of things yet?
Joe and I have been working at work and then working at home. Rose, My 30 yr old is re-doing the Pink Bathroom, it is a mess, she comes over on weekends. She is doing it for my Birthday. WE HAD TO GET A NEW WASHER DRYER, WE PAID TWO HUNDRED MORE THAN WE DID 16 YEARS AGO FOR THE SAME KIND OF WASHER DRYER SET. oops, caps lock/ sorry. Fruity the moon light amaryills had a huge long three ft stem with two bud shoots, it was outside on the ledge out front, Joe and I were really watching it, and then the wind came and knocked it down and it broke. Here is the top part, I saved it and put it in a vase. There are also some pics of the plants I have had blooming in the basement this past week, too.
Love you all...
oh, yes we are still planning on our trip, Linda.
Hi, Ray is back in the Hospital. Kidney Infection again. I'm just home to let the "Boys" out. Going back now.
Love & Hugs
I was just thinking about you yesterday, Debra, wondering what you've been up. Bummer the Amaryllis stalk broke, but the blooms don't last long, at least not for me even when they're still attached to the stalks, and yours are so pretty in a vase, as are your Daturas and MG's growing freely. The Dat is your 4th photo is a stunner.
Faye, I'm so sorry neither one of you can catch a break. It's been a rough year for both of you. Please call or text me with updates, OK? I bet you're sleeping in a chair again tonight next to Ray's bed and will be there til he's back home.
Hubby's been on a roll pressure washing the decks and our house. It's difficult with degenerative arthritis in his spine to do much at the time, especially reaching up, and he still has a way to go. When the dust, and pollen, settle, I'll seal the boards since he usually wears more paint than he spreads. When that project's finished, I'm going to order shutters so our house doesn't look so much like a box and will replace the screen doors on the back porch while we're at it. There's always something to do to keep up 'this old house'.
Love ya all.
Sorry to hear about Ray! Get some rest when you can, and please keep us updated?
Hello everyone.. I have been reading frequently but just not taking time to reply.... sorry. So sorry to hear about the loss of your fur baby, I would be devistated, I know the house seems empty wothout those extra feet. Congratulations on the new grandbaby!
I have had a few spring flowers here and there and we did have some spring rain that was very welcome but most of the rains went north and south of us leaving the ground dry and sandy. I just dug up about 1/4 of my back yard in the areas where the grass was dead and added water crystals and composted manure before seeding with bermuda grass... ugg... I hate that stuff but it can survive the drought once it starts growing. I have had fescue. I actually cried putting down that seed. I love my fescue but it requires too much water and I am actually going to break the watering restrictions getting this seed going. We are only allowed to water on Tuesdays between 5pm to 7pm with a water hose, no sprinklers , no automatic systems.... well, I am going to follow the restrictions in the front... the front is almost dead and full of weeds because of it! The back is another story. Have fixed the fence so it is impossible to see in... good thing my yard is small. Maximum width of grass is about 12 feet.. not a whole lot to water and it is shaded part of the day. I can't have 3 dogs and weeds and dirt. I would kill myself with all that tracking in the house every day. I have to have grass... sorry, I will conserve as much water as I can but the city can go after the fools who completely ignore the watering restrictions and have for the past year. I get frustrated that they keep coming up with more restrictions without enforcing the ones they already have or trying to make it reasonable. .... ....TV on..... enough for now.. life has intervened.. my troubles have diminished....
I am watching the tornado live in Dallas on TV...hard to watch... tears in my eyes.... pray for the people in the areas!
Oh I had no idea, Tammie. Been outside working all day and just sat down to take a break, then off to start supper.
MUST get in touch with my 2 sis-in-laws who live there!
Storms are really bad in the Dallas area, they just announced that an elementary school got hit, and took off the roof. I think it was named Courtney? Or something like that. Please take cover, and be careful!
Correction, it is Forney elementary school.
My nephew and his family live just north of Dallas. I tried to call them but calls would not go through. I remembered that I had heard some time ago that when phones are not working or all circuits are full that texting will frequently work... it did! He said "We are all OK, just really nasty , raining like crazy" We tried to call him to wish him a happy birthday.... what a day for his 27th! Guess he will be happy just to get through it in one piece with his family safe.
I'm so glad they're safe, Tammie!
Just talked to one sis-in-law who has been in touch with my other one....they are both fine and have no damage.
Glad to hear everyone I's OK!
Geez Faye you guys need a break, NOW.. Everything here is waking up and I have been running around with sheets every other night since there has been frost. Knew I should have left things in the garage.
Hi, just a quick stop to update on Ray. Had to stop the antibiotic because his Kidney was having an allergic reaction to it. On Prednizone for couple of days???. Now Rays Potassium has gone out the roof so now he is on a heart monitor. Ray is not at all well. Came home to shower.
Love & Hugs
Faye
Sorry to hear that Faye! Hope your getting some rest? Sending lots of prayers!
Sorry to hear about Ray.. the high potassium is because the kidney is not working well. They can give him kexelate.. spelling is bad..if the potassium gets too high... it will give him diarrhea and will get him to excrete the potassium that way. It works fairly well and quickly! A high potassium makes the heart more 'excitable' and prone to arrhythmia or irregular beats and can be scary if not monitored. Hang in there... I have taken care of many patients in similar situations.
Praying HARD for you, dear Faye and Ray
AMANDA just wanted to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOPE YOUR HAVEN A SPECIAL DAY .
Thank you all for your prayers, thank you with all my heart.
Ray is still in the Hospital but Dr. said this morning that he was a tiny bit better. Will see what happens in the next couple of days.
Love & Hugs
Faye
Glad to hear is is a bit better!
