I should have enough to send you a few and still put a few in the RR...unless no one else is interested in them lol. I know you didn't have much of a chance to go through the box. Here is what the two petunias look like. The pelleted petunia seeds are still tiny. Wonder if maybe they could be sent in a card and not a bubble envelope???

OH SUSAN SO PRETTY MY PELE FROM MAXINE DIDN'T LIKE THE SPOT I HAD IT IN & dIDN'T MAKE IT BUT THE OTHERS ARE DOING GREAT. CAN HARDLY WAIT TILL I SEE BLOOMS :)))

CONNIE THEY WOULD SHIP BETTER IN BUBBLE WRAP IT MIGHT BE A FEW PENNIES MORE BUT MUCH SAFER TO SHIP THEM.

Sorry for caps wasn't looking up. its time for me to go play with the printer :)

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

I knew it would cost more to mail but I my problem is I don't have any...unless I can find a good used one somewhere. If not I will have to wait until we go to another town for grocery shopping. Other than that, I LOVE rural living lol!!

Nice sight to see, Susan :) Instant sunshine in your yard.

We live in the boonies too, 16 miles in either direction to the nearest small town. I've bought bubble envies pretty cheap at the Dollar Store, somewhere around $1.50 I think it was for a 4-pack but that was a while ago. I've also taped packs of larger seeds like Cannas and Daylilies to a piece of bubble wrap that went all the way around and mailed them in a regular business size envy. The post office has those cardboard guages and envies over 1/4" thick cost a bit more but not much. Just depends on yours and the recipient's preferences.

(Anita) Fort Wayne, IN(Zone 6a)

Susan, I would love to try a couple of the Cardamom seeds.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Same here susan just tape the seeds to bubblewrap & mail in an evny sometimes it takes 2 stamps one gal sent me about 10 seeds of an amaranthus plant she has she mailed it in BW in the Sm White envy she put a reg stamp .42 cent & I Got a note from mail carrier .20 cents due . for 10 tiny seeds that you could hardly see.

anyway going out to the house so i can plant more seeds today :) so you all have a great day .

fruity, that is not "Pele". Pele is orange.
If and when I can get Dave's to download a picture for me some time today, will post it. I have tried it 6 times already.

Susie, send me your address again by daves mail and I will send yu a rhizome of pele.

I am back...(took about a week off of the computer...except for work stuff) and I am loving reading the thread...I cant wait for the robin to get to me. I suspect, since it is 80 degrees here and is only going to get hotter, that I will have to postpone my seed starting til the fall. However, if I can convince my husband to let me take over the guest room and keep seedlings inside, I might be able to have very healthy plants by the time fall rolls around. Anyone ever start seeds in water bottles and then keep adding dirt a little at a time to encourage root growth and whatever it is called when they get really long and scraggley?

Also, I am mad! I can't keep beets alive to save my life...redundant I know. They send up leaves and strong stems and then (I guess) my beets bolt...is that what it is called? such a bummer. I am desperate to have beets grow because they are so good and I love pickled beets. Plus, I hate to be defeated and I refuse to let beets beat me...hahaha!
None of my corn germinated, but it did make nice moldy seed starting cups.
I have 2 hibiscus from the "winter robin" that are growing...I am excited to see how they do.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Anita, I'll add Cardamom seeds in the Robin for you, unless you want me to mail them ahead. They smell so good!

Thanks for the correction, Maxine. I'll look to see what other tag is nearby. Clumps are starting to grow together.

The one you posted on a different site had the correct name.

Maxine

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

We aren't too far away from there. We played basketball against Revere and I ran around with two of the kids from there when they came here to play. You just brought up memories that I forgot about LOL!! I always looked forward to finding them at the game :)

His last name was VERDON & My BIL's Name was CLARK All from down that way

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

LOL!! We had a Clark move in across the street from us a few years ago. Not sure who he is related to but he is probably in his 40/50s. Clark is a pretty common name around here though. Clarks went to our school here. Ya never know who their long lost relatives are :)

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Happy Birthday Carolyn!!

I am labeling seeds to go back in the box now hoping to get it back on it's way. I will confirm with another post when I get back from the P.O.

Susie, I will send you a d-mail in a minute...

Maxine, I haven't heard anything back from you but I did send you seeds before the RR box was sent to me. You should have gotten the Bubble envelope by now.

Connie

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Yes Connie, I did and thank you so much for sending me the seeds. I owe you an apology for not getting back to you. Am limited as to what I can do, as going to a acupuncturist 3 days a week. 3 rd. treatment and I think it is starting to work.

Has any one ever direct sowed their seeds in hanging baskets? any luck? I am thinking that is what I am going to have to do this yr.

Maxine

(Anita) Fort Wayne, IN(Zone 6a)

Maxine, I directs sowed some seeds last year in aflower pot. I covered the pot will a clear plastic bag and poked holes in it top and bottom for air and drainage. I was surprised how fast the seeds germinated.

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Thanks, think I will try it in my hanging pots.

Max

(Anita) Fort Wayne, IN(Zone 6a)

Maxine, do you grow in the cocoa fiber pots? I haven't had much luck growing anything in those?

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

SO glad to know you got the seeds Maxine. I was really worried about it. However you decide to plant those, keep in mind they are pelleted so they need to stay moist and not dry out at all for the first few days.

The box is now on its way to SUNNY CALIFORNIA ::)))) YAY!!!

Connie
