Peas are sprouting!
Whats New March 2012
woo hoo
anyone else feel like the world must be ending? perennials are starting to poke up, bluebells are about 2" up, and my early-blooming crocuses aren't even dead yet! and it March isn't exactly close to over. May be normal for some parts of the country, but not up here in North Country, Z4!!! It is totally weird!!!
I hope we don't get any freezes that kill everything, because then I'll be really pissed :) [the weekend considered safe to plant tender plants is memorial day weekend, so there's plenty of time left!!]
That said, we've had so little snow that I'm REALLY sick of seeing all this brown, so if things want to green up quickly, ok with me :D
Victor I think stinky hellebore is dead... but have a ton of seedlings around it.. will have blooms in what.. 5 years?
We came up to our vacation place in Albany, Maine on Monday. Didn't bring my digital camera, cuz whoda thunk there'd be anything to photograph!!! The witch hazel is blooming and on Monday 5 crocuses opened up in the front yard. On Tuesday two more, (all yellow so far), and on Wednesday a blue one... three blooms on it. Huh!
The delphs and poppies are sprouting.
Yes - at least 3 or 4 years, Allison.
Noticed one of my JMs leafing out. Crazy!
My Sweet Autumn Clem is leafing out like crazy
I'm afraid the state will lose the fruit crops if it turns very cold again!
We are anxious about the apple crops here.
one of mine has leafed as well
I am sure we will still get a freeze or two. Just too early!
Looking good!!!!
#1 Calibrachoa
#2 Alternanthera ?
#3 Bacopea
very good!!
the old glory is not really blue
:(
Are you shocked? LOL
no.. of course not.. but was hoping
I swear nothing was coming up on Monday, today astibles and some hosta are 2" tall.
what's really weird is that some trees still look brown but then there are some trees totally in bloom...I saw a small leaf rhodie at the post office today in total bloom
I'm worried that our plants will have sprung up too far for us to rake off the heavy wet piles of leaves on the gardens by the time we get there.
Slow it down, Mother Nature.
Still 65 here. It gets too hot to work outdoors.
Don't worry DB--It is so dry the moisture will be out of the leaf piles.
Local weatherman says its an ElNino year. Dont be surprised at any thing.
wow nice!!!
I put my fuchsias out a few days ago...they look better already.....pink hellebore burst into bloom in just a few days.....also I couldn't resist the pansies & violas my neighbor was selling!
i'm luvin it.
Got more crocus colors blooming today, along with hellebore, and lungwort. ^_^
Ooh...haven't checked my lungwort!
I think ours is under leaves.
Wow Jen, nice!! Love the firespray and primrose!!
