Elaine,
You are in good shape there with your Poly. Mine went completely dormant last year...not a leaf or sign of life to be seen.
Drew, Thanks...It's one that was happiest with benign neglect....
And is that your front yard ? Very manicured and all....you can come do my front yard !!
Tropical Plants and Gardens #117
Happy Birthday Cassie !!!
Hope you get all the plants on your wish list for your Birthday !!
Happy, happy, happy birthday Cassie. Just one day shy of being a leap year baby, whew!
LOL Alice...
gee CASSIE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Rita, the fringe plant is the THIRD pic. - what is the second one - looks like a vine of some sort.
Hello Everyone!!
I had to wish candela a happy birthday before I went to mow this morning, I would have forgotten otherwise. There is rain in the forecast for us.
Joeswife, that is a very pretty picture of my favorite Brug.
RachelLF, That is a very impressive new leaf on your Anthurium.
I bought the Philo. Ring of Fire from Hawaii several years ago on e-bay, it is a slow grower.
The Philo. melanochrysum Black gold died last summer. Drew is the go-to guy for growing Philos. I keep going back to his pictures for a second look.
I have lots of love and care ready for that nice looking Lasia whenever it is warm enough to ship.
homer1958,Your front yard is immaculate!
ardesia, that's funny.
KayJones, Post #9020864 (1)Philo. Ring of Fire
(2) Loropetalum ---chinese frindge plant
(3) Coleus with White Mandevilla vine, not blooming.
A good night to all.
Rita, I have NEVER seen a shrub that tall!
Rita What the heck is that?
I wanna tree octopus!
No, No, its a jellyfish!
I agree, Paula. Jellyfish plant??
Can't be an octopus, Deb. More than 8 legs there.
I have leftovers in my fridge that look like that . . .
lmao.. elaine :D seriously, it reminds me of the orange squiggly looking alien looking things that fall on my car from my pine tree when it rains too much..
Speaking of raining too much, hope all those tornadoes are missing you tonight, Deb. Pretty serious looking line of storms going through your state!
well, we were in the middle of it all, but all the rain and tornadoes were north and south of us here.. it is all good, we got a hard rain for ten minutes, and filled up a water tub.. I keep it at the spill over end of the gutters..
here is a link to my basement garden thread.. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1167701/
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! Unfortunately I had to work 12 hrs yesterday. I have today off though to make up for it. Just going to go out in the yard and enjoy it. Thanks again it is always nice to see all these lovely plants to brighten up the day! Cassie
Are you in the medical profession Cassie?
Homer, yes I am a nurse in the operating room. I work 3 twelves and take call weekends and actually work a second job on my days off with a plastic surgeon. So I guess that is why I like to go out in the garden and see things bloom and thrive. I just wish I had more time out there. Are you as well?
Drew, great growing, as usual and I'm wishing you the best with Watsoniana. I'm definitely going try that Alocasia again.
Rita, I am sorry you lost your P. melanochyrsum and what a cool picture of what looks like a type of tree fungus growth but I've never seen any that looks like that. My problem, once again, is spider mites and I should have known that as I've battled them before.
Happy belated Birthday Candela.
Yea, thanks Rachel; It is too beautiful not to give a couple more tries! Time for bed
Good night All!
Hello Everyone!!
I am glad that you guys found my tree octopus/jellyfish amusing. I love weird looking stuff. It is Anchomanes welwitchii.
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/100639/
Joeswife, it is always a pleasure to view your jungle, it is fun to see how much your plants have grown. You have enough material and experience to write a book on how to keep a basement garden.
RacheLF, I forgot to mention that I find the Philo. Melanochrysum X Verricosum a very easy plant to grow.
homer1958, Perfection!!!! Who is #4 ?
A few Philo's that are putting out new growth after they almost died last summer.
Is anyone interested in starting a new thread??
Rita, That is Alocasia Robudora Supermax. A.odora x A.robusta
So many plants I want you guys, and NOT nearly enough room!!!
Homer, your plants as always look gorgeous.
Elaine, CG looks great! I lost mine last summer.
Martha! I have pipes in my basement! For real! It has Pipes! LMAO
Rita, the last pic is an awsome plant. I saw one on ebay, I almost got it.
your Anchomanes welwitchii is very cool. I love unusual too.. which is why I am always so pleased to see all of the plants here.. not your ld kansas sunflower! LOL
Come on over to the new thread, this one was taking a bit long to load.
