Got some green beans going well.
the baggie has my tomato seeds who haven't sprouted yet after a week in the bag.
there's a 18inch florescent grow light on the wall next to the window to provide more light.

Window Garden
The tomato seeds may need a little more heat to germinate. I wouldnt worry about the light until they sprout, The beans do look good, giving me some ideas since it seems winter might have finally arrived.
So far the beans are coming along fine starting to form the beans now.
the tomatoes are just getting their second sets of leaves. I know the problem with them is the temp in the apartment, but I cant leave the thermostat at 80 all day or id go broke.
It only needs to be that warm to speed up germination. Growing your seedlings at a cooler temperature is perfect.
Easybake, will you leave your beans inside during the whole process. I do not have much luck with green beans outside, as some critter always eats the whole plant with the beans. How about if I keep my beans in a planter on the Patio? Would that work?
Easybake - as long as there is no expected frost in your area until fall, then I would go ahead and set out your tomatoes.
behillman - I've had voles eat bean plants. They pull them down from their tunnels under the ground. I've read that they don't like blood meal. I'll have to see if this works when I grow beans again this year. Sorry I don't know anything about growing beans in a planter.
Edited - sorry, didn't mean to make most of this post bold!

I Already ate the 1st set of greenbeans, hopefully another batch will form soon.
I may move the outside cause i want to leave the tomaotos indoors, the heat just destroyes them.

Easybake - Seedlings can be transplanted to the outdoors anytime the temperatures are warm enough.
I like my seedlings to have at least one set of "true leaves" before transplanting them to the garden.
How soon should a second set of green beans start up after removing the 1st batch?
they are ferry-morse tender green improved.
Oppps Saw a few new shoots flowers today,
You never did say where you are growing your green beans. In the window or outside.
Window, i may move them outside and move the tomatoes inside were i can put more light on them.
Growing tomatoes inside is really hard. I have a terrible time getting them to bloom, and the plantas get really big.
Not sure what else i can do,it will soon be way to hot for them outside.
EB-why will it be too hot for them?
last years average high during the summer here was about 108 last year.the 100 degree days started in may and most of the people i talked to about why my tomato's stopped producing was the heat.
So I will probably keep them outside till it starts getting hot.
Ya I live in TX too. Im aware of the heat but they wont produce inside either, and tomato plants get really big.
Any remedy for tiny black flys?
Wonder if my Cherry tomato's has some kind of problem.
2 months and they have not gotten any bigger. dont seem to matter if their inside or outside.

Have you fertilized them?
Yes
Do you mean the plants or the tomato fruit hasn't gotten any larger?
Are they still indoors or out?
Did you remedy the tiny black fly problem?
I have some inside as well as some outside.
in neither set are the plants them selves getting any bigger then a few inches high and no new growth for a month.
black fly's are gone.
Tell us what type of soil you used in your containers?
