I really was not sure where to post this so I thought maybe it will get the broadest viewing in this forum.

A video on the BBC news website today. For those in the UK, the programme was on BBC 2 tonight so will be available on iplayer online. I am in the US right now so if I find a link to it somewhere else I'll post it later but this little snippet is fascinating! A whole world of secret plant communication!

"For the first time, scientists at Exeter University have captured on film the process by which plants alert each other to possible dangers.

When a plant is under attack it releases a gas which warns neighbouring plants to protect themselves."

Very interesting ....
And why not? Insects communicate with each other. There are so many things about the world we live in that we DON'T know.
