Oh, I love both the weigelea, Jen and the Abies, wha.
Spending spree #10
Purple cones, wha! I have just the place for that--right next to the bluenose rhodi and the cornus mas flava--to keep the yellow and purple tone theme going.
If you've never had dahlias before, you will surely be pleasantly surprised. Insofar as we've not had much of a winter and things are starting to grow ahead of time, and inasmuch as a lot of the flowers will have bloomed by mid August, dahlias will just keep on going till the first frost. Sometimes they're the only thing left blooming as the perennials are pretty much gone by then, especially if we have a hot summer.
The smaller blooms don't need much staking, but keep on blooming just like their big brothers and sisters.
I love dwarf dahlias too
Gorgeous, Bill. Might have to get that.
Love that, Bill! It's a show stopper! Where will you put it?
Jen, i had to bookmark that page to buy one when we get back to the farm. I have a perfect spot for it!
Louise!! you will be amazed when you return.Spring is a month early.
The nights are going into the 20s this week....will there be lilies, DLs, iris this summer?
I've been expecting it.
It is supposed to go down to 29 degrees tomorrow night. Not al all worried about the alliums or the other spring plants, but wonder about those lilies. Not too many of them are up, but they were at least 3-4 inches high yesterday. OTs have been up for more than a week, and the other shoots are orientals. I wonder if we need to protect northern crops with smudge pots....
don't know my DL & lilies are all poking up
Have no smudge pots.....the lilies up the tallest are against rock walls...hopefully some protection offered there....
no smudge pots here, either.
I will cover with sheets and pots
went looking for an arbor for the garden to replace the one that broke. We found one and will pick it up on payday. picked up velcro plant ties to try.
What will be on the arbor, Jumper?
my Sweet Autumn clematis.
My bulbs from B&B arrived and I forgot I ordered so many!! My order from a co-op came too, lots of liles to plant.
my caladiums were shipped!!!
A big box came today from the Holland Bulb company! My first package of the season.
Crap! Bulbs would be OK I guess, if they don't get left outside. I really hope nothing comes until next Monday because.......
A) we got snow yesterday and more snowshowers today
B) There are a 24 year old and a 23 year old at my house to care for any said plants till i get home.
Dutch Gardens sent my lilies & penstemon yesterday....I planted the lilies...Cherbourg....the penstemon will have to stay inside for awhile....
Anyone have a proven good online source for hydrangeas??
check out what buckrun nursery has - they sent me a good sized one last year.
had to buy some garden stock.. and a columbine today.. they were looking at me!!!
Thanks, Bill.
Went to Ward's....just bought a ranunculus for plants....but also bought plant tags & a wren house...stopped at Big Y just down the road a bit, & they had orange mint...which I bought.
Towards what?? ;)
Hmmm?
Went to Wards...
Try to keep up! Hee hee. ^_^
Word to the wise - don't go on gardening websites while enjoying adult beverages.
I had to read that several times. Funny, Victor
I'm losing ground trying to keep up with Victor. :)
Glad you found some fun purchases, Marilyn, even though no stones today.
Victor probably has a system for layering plants in a small yard.Observation deck probably.
Oh....I get it...also forgot about the glad corms I bought....some are smoky cocoa in color....
LOL, Jo! He's a magician no matter how he fits all those plants in!
Hee hee. And I did place two orders last evening after a few glasses of wine!
Good reason to keep a few more bottles on hand!
Ha ha. I am sure my plant sources would gladly send me a few cases!
