Granny, cute downy and nice shot of the flicker showing off his red crescent.
Nanny, I'm drooling over the pileated photos, but they're all really cute. That downy and the dee is sweet.
Daily Bird Pictures, Vol. 431
Wonderful shots Nanny. Love all of the Pileateds!!
What gorgeous birds, everyone. Pelle and GG, I just love the Tufted Titmouse. They have to be the cutest of all birds with those big eyes and the extravagant coif.
Duc, how blessed are you to have Bald Eagles sitting outside your house watching the world go by. Amazing.
Nanny you used to be the Warbler Queen. I think your new title must be Countess of the Woodpeckers. Love that Pileated.
Good for you catching the Flicker in flight, teddy.
Kim, your Carolina Wren is so sweet..
That is a neat shot of the Cardinal Lily. My Flickers are frozen this morning. Just came in from trying to get a few shots, but hands nearly froze.
Two fun shots from yesterday, members of the Skunk Hollow Gang--two forward lookouts, Louie watching the rear.
Second shot, Louie says all clear in the rear--all together now--LET'S WIPE OUT THE SUET!!
GG, I don't get to see the Starlings in flock here at any giving time. But always have been very fond of the colorful birds. Such fun shots of the Skunk Hollow Gang. LOL
Beautiful shots everyone!
Very jealous of the titmouse at your feeders! Nice shots Pelle and Granny!
Also, totally jealous of the Spotted Towhee Duc. That's one I'm really trying hard to see. Call sounds like the beginning of Beethoven's 5th, so I'm listening for that all the time! Love the variety that you get and am amazed that all your shots are so perfect!
Love the Pileateds Nanny. I would love to have a racoon in the yard! Highly unlikely for me, but glad you're enjoying all your great wildlife.
Lily, you've got some cuties.
Great Flicker shots too everyone. Wish they'd come to my feeders.
This series is called "almost got it." Lighting was not perfect and so neither are the pics, but the subjects wowed me! A White-tailed Kite, an Osprey eating a fish that was still wiggling, and a mystery hawk that's probably just a dark red-tail although white bill surprised me.
Nice "almost got it" series Elphy. The Kite is one of my wanna see birds! I have yet found one Osprey this year. Ooooh not so with the Hawks, there were too many of them. I filmed an Eagle yesterday from the back yard. cropped this pix to share.
The second shot is a fun one. I need a caption that states "Follow me to the buffet over here" said the American Coot to the flock of Pekin ducks.
Lily, nice shots of the cardinal and downy. Glad you're seeing the eagles too. Pretty duck group.
Granny, love your gang photos-so cute the way they keep watch.
Ellphaba, I'd be happy with that photo of the kite. Haven't yet seen one of them or the osprey here and they're overdo.
Speaking of ducks, here's one of many ruddy ducks on our lake.
Such great timing with that "almost" rainbow shot and Duc, have you noticed the Dove's eye-shadow picks up the rainbow color? LOL
Beautiful shots Duc. Nice to see a rainbow too.
Nice ones Duc. Love that Ruddy Duck shot. BTW, if you'd taken that kite shot, you would be happpy with it b/c it would be crystal clear -- and it would be in some beautiful natural setting with a rainbow behind it! It was gorgeous though and one of 4 that I saw yesterday, and like you, I hadn't seen any in a while, so I was pretty excited.
Lily, how cool to have an eagle in your backyard. Just great!
Margaret, forgot to tell you how amazing your gull shots were. Very nice group.
Here's a group shot of 2 White Ibis, one Little Blue Heron, 2 Great Blue Herons hiding their heads and some Gadwall, and a photo of a Harris' Sparrow. .
