At first, I thought my orchid is blooming again, but now I have 2 new growths that look like miniature orchids, shooting some little root like things downwards, towards the pot! What should I do? Leave them alone or what? Help... for a beginner orchid lover!
???New plants where there should be flowers on my orchid???
Hi orchidfan! I've found you!!!! I think a picture would help here...I'm not an orchid expert, never had one, so I can't help you with this. But I'm sure someone will answer to your question.

Some orchids will reproduce that way. The little baby orchids are called keiki's http://www.repotme.com/orchid-care/Orchid-Keikis.html
Thanks ecrane3, that was very helpfull and I am sure I will be using that web site a lot!
You have babies on your orchid!
Yes, how about that. I got an orchid as a gift a couple of years ago and I threw it away because even the leaves were dying, I could have probably saved it. I am so excited about the baby keikis!
Not all Orchids have baby plants this way, some new plants are from under the soil, you should try get a book or catalogue from orchid growers to establish the different types of plants in the Orchid family as there are many and not all are the same, not all get the same treatment or growing conditions. It sounds like you have taken a real liking to these plants so go try find out all about them, there are lots of clubs, groups etc who will be happy to encourage your curiosity in this type of growing. good luck. Woohoo, I'm so happy for you! Such great advice here! Orchids are so beautiful!
