I bought a number of tall bearded Iris rhizomes a month or more ago but failed to plant them at the time.
I live in N.Y. Hudson Valley and wonder if I can set them during this frigid weather. I have a sun-room and
could set them in an appropriate large vessel where it won't be as cold as outside right now. Any special
info about late planting? I have many thriving Irises but never planted so late in the season. Thanks, Paul
Late Iris planting
Hi,
I'm no expert, but i would think you should plant them in a large pot in your sun room for now. I would set them out after the last freeze. That being said, someone else might post and tell you to set them out now and that might be OK too. I just figure that would be a safer bet for the bulbs, than risking there freezing... Good luck! I love my bearded Iris.
Way too late now to plant them, pot them up and put them in the sunroom
