Clivia not blooming

I have taken part of Clivia and moved it around the garden whenever they get too thick. Usually they do well. But one group, though the foliage is OK, has never bloomed in 2-3 years. They are in a semi-shaded area, which I understood Clivia likes. Could that be the problem? I am in So. Calif coastal, Zone 8. Thank you.
