We are looking at purchasing bare root fruit trees and vines? Anyone have some sources?
help? best place to purchase bare root fruit trees?
a nursery in your area should carry them, but normally at certain times of the year- since i dont do bareroot, i dont really have experience. generally the dormant time fall-spring. but its not a good idea to plant anything in winter or right before winter. try right before spring, or at the start of spring. since theyre bareroot, they should be purchased dormant without any new growth. - hope this little bit of advice helps somewhat :)
Thanks, we intend to purchase in the EARLY spring and were hoping to get the names of some tried and true nursery names. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
youre welcome. i hope you get good harvests in the future. unfortunately youre on the opposite side of the country for me to have an idea of the nurseries around ther, or the climate. happy holidays :)

I've ordered several fruit trees from Burnt Ridge and they were very healthy and arrived in excellent condition. They will send them to you at the appropriate planting time for your region. I believe they are out in Oregon but their trees thrived here in MS very well.
Oops! My bad. They are actually located in your own state of Washington--how nice for you!
Raintree Nursery near Morton, Wa is a good one with a large selection and more than just one rootstock.
