That was an awful murder....how could that Mom have trusted him? Terrible fire here in CT took the lives of 3 beautiful little girls & their grandparents....makes me ill just thinking about it.....
Coffee Break # 69 Its Holiday time
Yes, what a tragedy. The grandfather was the Saks Santa. He died trying to save the kids.
all very sad.
Jen, I've got a sore throat too!
In addition it has been a tough winter for fire fighters. One in worcester killed when a building collapsed & 2 days before Christmas a Peabody fireman was killed in a house fire. both were dads.
It's a scary job....the Stamford fire chief was overcome by grief......
After posting the last few pics, the Macy's one triggered the song I Believe in my head. Kept on singing it. Love it, but did not remember who did the great original version in the 50's. In one minute I found it on the net (the Earls) and downloaded it from iTunes. Love the internet and Apple!!!!
I downloaded a couple of albums from itunes.. thought they were pretty bad quality
Complain! I am sure they will make it right.
if I buy anymore .. just going to stick to amazon.. always good ones there
I keep wondering what we did 20 years ago.
Me too, Debi!
We would have to ask people or look up in a book. Then go to the record store and if the song was not on a 45, buy the whole album to get one song!!
For everything.
I slept ALL day...hubby working late again
It's Jan 12th, Jen.
oh no!!!! wonder if hubby has been bringing the kids to school?
Hi, everybody!
I've been away from Dave's Garden for approx. 4 months, due to medical "challenges, repairs, and maintenance."
I hope all of you had a joyous, wonderful holiday !!!
Are any of you thinking about starting seeds indoors in March, or other plant "stuff"? Or are ya'll just hoping to get through New Year's Day before moving into "pre-spring"?
Good luck, in any case...I'll be perusing older threads to catch up.
Good to see you BA
funny Victor
Hi BA
I'm playing words with friends with my sister, and would have scored 118 points, but it wouldn't accept gaura as a word!
"Gaura" is on Wikipedia.org.
It was in my garden too!
mine too.. good to see you BA.. hope you are well now!!
onewish1 ----- Your seasonal decorations always inspire, and are creative!
flowAgen----- Hope Wall-E is doing fine.
Pixie---- Siris is beyond cute; probably smart, too.
Victor---- I missed your many keen insights (even if I wasn't always in 100% agreement, you always demonstrate cogent reasoning; a great example for the kids, and other people around you).
I missed all of you, and the pets too, since I'm pet-less currently.
Welcome back, BA! Was wondering if something was wrong. Hopefully all is fine now.
Hopefully cogent is good. ^_^
Wow - we dug out the video of my older guy when he was a newborn until about 8 mos. First time we have watched. Incredible how fast 13 years can go!
My kids are in their 50's.I dont want to remember their infant years.Hope everyone had a great holiday.
About music. I remember tape deck in my vehicle.Tapes ruined in a short time, next was the Walkman .Everything was on discs. and had to be ordered and waited for.
Hi BA, Welcome back!!! Yes Siris is very smart, and sneaky too for a pup. :)

A lovely photo, a handsome couple....love is forever, even if our bodies are not.
Ditto! Well said. (((HUGS)))
Guess you should never shop while sick...
I usually stock up on bath and body soaps after Christmas for next year...such a bargain!!! anyhoo their candles and accessories were also on sale...bought a surround to hold a large candle....guess I didn't notice the size...big enough to be a wastepaper basket....the thing is HUGE gorgeous but huge...I'll take a comparison pic tomorrow
Yep, big discounts on those items post-Christmas, if you have the stamina and storage space to accommodate.
Welcome back Bostonarea.I agree, sales dont tempt me. I'm simplifying around here too.
I'll buy wrapping paper and boxes while on sale this year for next Christmas. Last year I found a barbie doll type of doll but her name was HAYDEN, she had blonde hair and blue eyes just like DGD. I bought it and stored until this year along with a camper set it had and a sailboat all to fit this certain doll. DGD was thrilled, It was well worth the effort and storage space to see her face light up like it did!!
