Making progress... Got both coats of black painted yesterday. Planning to do the crackle and yellow today. Will let that dry, then do the wording probably tomorrow :)

You all did a great job on your piece. I sincerely hope that who ever got the box Betty sent to me took the time to do as good a job. Can hardly wait to do mine with Betty's assistance when we get together at Betty's 'General Meeting' in the summer.

More progress... crackle, yellow, and lettering all done! Just need to do the wash now. Hoping to finish this evening :)

This picture isn't the best...I just can't get the right lighting and no photo shop program to tweak it....
but here is the "Dream" one I made for "the child" in the black, red & silver.

The candles should be burgandy, like ours were ...but the light shows them red.

Reflect her personality? Its that bad looking? OH well, its in her room. lol The lighting really is not picking up the sparkles in the high gloss black or the deep red. Oldest DD says it is the "twilight" version as it looks "goth". lol

Wanted to let you all know that I finished my project :) We did the wash on December 31. My husband took pictures of my project at each step. He hasn't had a chance to get them posted on picasa yet. But when he does, I'll post the links here so you can all take a look.
Hope you're all having a good year so far. Unfortunately, we started it out with colds, but my husband is well again and I'm almost all better again :)

Glad your project is now a piece of decor in your home! Looking forward to photo's and sure hope you are feeling better..some say the colds/flu are the result of this change in weather conditions..touch wood I've had neither..understand the new virus stays for weeks..

Love this one too, Betty. And I have the perfect wood to make this and all the other items too. So this is a project to do with Goober and Gryphon.

Do you think I can find the letter stencils at Walmart?

I believe I went on my computer, typed till I found a nice font, printed it to size then traced using graphite then the fun started painting the letterng

Oh.. Ok. My DH has the prettiest handwrighting. I think I will get him to do it for me. And I have blocks of wood from pallets that is just perfect for this.

Betty, my apologies... Meant to get a picture of my finished project posted long ago! My husband did take a pic of it, but needs to find the picture. He's pretty busy with another project right now, but when he finishes with it, I'll see if he can find the picture and help me get it posted.
