Remember if you are out today, you need black acrylic paint..most $$$ stores have it if you don't already have some..sponge brush or brush about 2" wide or so would help...

good morning ^_^ just spoke to #1 son on skype !! it has been awhile as he is doing a lot of moving around. Sure was nice to see him.

you should be getting my envelope soon, I have paint and brushes, ready to get to work....

They are out of my hands..oh oh got in trouble at post office, thought likely would have to re-wrap..I cut those large flat rate boxes in hard and wrapped, in one corner she saw the USA postal emblem..slapped my fingers, put label on a few where you could see it through wrapping..I'm hoping nothing gets broken?

Yikes LindaKay, deep breath isn't going to do it...my patience is running thing..spending 80% of my time in a hotel room isn't making me smile..lol

Aunt Muriel is a gem, I'd take her back next weekend if she wanted to come..there is no way in h^%#}. That mom should be here...I'm in the hotel for a few hours while mom is on breathing/medication machine

Did manage to get some Xmas fabric to finish the 3 quilts..almost out at Joann's..yikes, sure hope on my visit to Joann's around the corner that they have more..will leave mom at hotel while I take an hour to pick go browsing!

WOW...talk about fast US postal service!! I could see that Debbie would get it fast because she kinda lives close where it was mailed...but LK you are in Texas!!!
I am very impressed with the service...wish we would have the same here. Here if I'd mail a letter to the next town over (about 4 miles away) it takes at least 4-5 days!!!!!

Thea, was thinking the same..if I mail in my home town and want it to go to the next town 10 miles away they send it to sorting in Toronto 100 miles away then back to the town, Lord knows where yours has travelled to before it arrives

Kits are starting to arrive and now comes the 'do we find a day we can craft together? (or even a 2nd date for those who cannot make it?' or 'do I sit and give the steps, letting all do at their leisure?' knowing that I'm always as close as the computer to help lead you through and answer any questions...

OMG, this past weekend I saw the cutest whimsical piece and thought of you all, ok so I thought it might be a 2012 project!!! little ahead of the game aren't I???

it's a snowman, my adaptation is legs of dowels, white tinsel tree for body, parcels made with fabric, lights in the tree with bells and a santa hat..there, how does that sound??? I know, best get through this one first right????

I say post the directions, then everyone can make these when they have the time? Maybe start a new thread with all the instructions in one place? Just my thoughts.

We could leave the CHAT here and I could post directions on another link, any questions could be asked here, if it is something I omitted then I'll add to the instruction link...do you think that would work?

Works great for me...I like having the instructions in one place...It makes it much easier.

Oh Wow! This is a cool one Betty, sorry I missed it, but going to follow along and see how they all turn out if that alright with you all..Just watching what you're doing is a great treat.

DG has been a nightmare for me to get on now for about 3 months. It takes a long time for it to load up and to go from page to pages take a good three minutes sometimes. It's the only site that does this and I have high speed.

Betty, I like the idea of posting a thread just for the instructions. Since I'll need some sighted assistance for parts of the project, I'll need to work on mine when my husband is home to help. So this would work well. And, great idea to post to this thread if we have questions.

Sean and I are all excited!!! Our boxes came today and Sean was here. He got to open his own box and has already got the first coat of black done!!! It is so much fun watching him. I must remember to get a picture when he does the second coat. He is a bit impatient at times and I needed to slow him down a bit but it's going great.
Thank you so much Betty for providing us this opportunity to spend time together. He needs it and I do too!!!!

Still no box Betty.... I will check at the PO again in the morning. Our courier driver is not the most reliable but we have pinned his ears twice this fall about not delivering things that had tracking numbers. Gotta wonder how he qualifies for his job.

Would have loved to see Sean's eyes when he opend his box Barb. Yours too I bet!

Thank heaven you put the gold paint in a bag as it broke but not to worry. I'll take the bag to Michaels and get the paint. Everything else is fine. The surprises are just adorable. Now to get more time with Sean. I guess he's been acting up a bit at school and has found himself grounded for a while. I had him today as we had a power outage this morning and there was no school. He is thrilled Betty that you don't forget him and his grin was river wide when he realized you wrote a card just for him. It really doesn't take a lot sometimes to make him feel great. We thank you so much for that....

Oh no Barb, would have thought the glass would break before the yellow paint...love crafting with kids, know you do to..any paints at home you could mix up? Doesn't have to be same!

Now if we could find Dianne's kit..bet the postman wants to paint it for his wife..

Must have been Trisha. She is not a member of DG anymore, but she post in the other room everyone once in awhile.

LOL Betty our postman is trolling for a new wife!! His first wife left him a couple of years ago and he doesn't like having to cook, clean, laundry and iron for himself! Think he needs to spend some more time on his delivery route doing his job then trying to find a new woman.

So glad to hear Heather is being release LK. Does he have any other children? It will be awfully hard for her to rest if she does. Hopefully she has some support either from family or friends to help her through this time.

Well I need another root canal so I guess that will be my Christmas present to myself. Darn radiation! It sure has done a number on my teeth. Doc can fit me in so I won't have to sing All I Want For Christmas Is MY One Front Tooth.

Going to get our tree tomorrow provided it doesn't sleet as the WeatherLiars are forecasting. Debbie I will take your snow any day over sleet. Our loooong lane (its over a mile out for us) gets quite dicey with ice on it. I laughed at the UPS driver yesterday. He came about 4:45 pm and it is completely dark here by then. He jumped out of his truck and told me how scary it is to drive the lane in the dark. He was glad he has been down here a few times or he would of freaked.I think because we use it so much and are so used to it it is not as daunting to us as it is to others.

Going to stoke the wood stove and sit by it for awhile to read. I think once the tree is up this weekend I will give Santa Warren his new laptop. Hopefully he will conquer enough on it to send his letter off to the real Santa before Christmas.

hope you skipped the sleet Dianne, we had snow last night more to come but doubt in any big amount..I'll drive in anything except that! Oooh how very exciting it will be to give Santa Warren his pressie..he will be thrilled and you will get such a feeling come over you seeing how you've made his Christmas.

If it were a parcel Dianne would they not leave a card in the mailbox advising you of such??

Today will be a sewing day as I've transferred to calls to the house. Hopefully I can complete at least one of the quilts..I've undertaken many projects but this is never ending, will be glad to see the end of them.
