I thought Zookeeper was cute!

Want to see Zookeeper, never saw Dave or In and Out

Just finished watching "the Big Year" about birding, def not as funny as I expected it to be

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yeah, I heard The Big Year was not so great.

Here's a link the Dave, which also stars Sigourney Weaver.

Anyone see the Dragon commercials about the guy writing his novel while his wife is talking to him? I'm thinking of trying it in my long commutes for work. I won't reveal the plot or title, but it's a thriller about a youthful female forensic psychologist, an environmentalist politician, and a murder coverup, set in Boston.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, sounds good, Rosemary. I love books like that.

Karen

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

so at the bookstore today I looked for books that might have similar protagonists to mine. I don't think there are any. And my idea is that the main character is a bit vulnerable and unlucky, even if effective. There are take-offs on the Alienist with Freud's buddys solving murders, there are a few scattered male forensic psychiatrists, and there are female detectives, such as Carlotta Carlisle, or female bounty-hunters, and there are rewrites of Sherlock Holmes where his wife is an equal sleuth. I found one about a Vt. transplant from New York deciding to drop gardening when they found a corpse, and pursuing the murder mystery. Nothing truly grabbed me.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

holy cow .. I just read Whitey Houston died

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sad, but not shocking, given her years of abuse.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Just read it too.So sad.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yeah, I just heard that myself. Shocking. She was just about a year younger than I am. Just goes to show what happens when you abuse your body. Such a shame.

Anyone watching the Grammy's tonight? I am extremely curious to see how many wins ADELE has. ^_^

Sad about Whitney Houston. Good day for staying in and watching golf and the Grammy's. Sounds like Adele's beautiful voice has fully recovered. I was under the weather yesterday but the day went by quickly with the help of a 4 hour Netflix disk of the recommended "Damages" which became very entertaining once I got into it.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Not into watching awards shows. Hearing about it after the fact is good enough for me. Same with sports games.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I have not watched any awards shows in many years.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Goodness - read that they found Ativan, Valium and Xanax, as well as a sleep med, at the hotel. They are reporting now she may have passed out after taking all these, and possibly alcohol, then drowned in the tub. How awful.

She burst on the scene the Year I met my wife - 1985. Seemed all the hits that year were hers, Madonna's or Cyndi Lauper's. I read a long time ago that Robert DeNiro wanted to marry her but her mother would not permit it. Might have changed things.

So sad.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I haven't watched the awards in a long time either, just a fan of ADELE.....I like her attitude. :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Certainly is a lot of buzz about her.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

She's sassy, and won't conform to the skinny scene just to be liked or accepted.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good for her. Love to see people who don't care about pleasing others.

For many women, the ultimate insult is being called overweight. However, Grammy-nominated sensation Adele is not one of them–in fact, she says she’s just fine with her shape and size. In response to a comment by fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, who caused waves by outright calling the 23-year-old “fat” in an interview with Paris newspaper Metro this week, Adele had this to say: “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women, and I’m very proud of that.” The quote appears in the February 20 issue of People, which hits newsstands on Friday.

There is no way you can call Adele fat! I'm disgusted for what passes as beautiful these days, all those anorexic women with their bones sticking out. People had more sense in Marilyn Monroe's day.

I have zero tolerance for drug abuse in adults...saw too many people get ripped apart because of them.

I like Adele too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like Adele, but she needs to lose a few. ^_^

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

IT'S NOT OVER AND SHE WON 4 SO FAR!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I don't watch award shows at all....trying to find pics of Adele without a ton of clothes on....can't tell if it's the clothes she wears that makes her look fatter than she really is

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

my wife watches all the award shows, even the pre-show red carpet stuff and that means i usually do as well (not the red carpet) - last night's show was pretty good although we do not care for rap and some of the dance music - paul mccartney's closing number was very good. Adele won all six of her nominations.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I just check out all the red carpet pics of the clothes after the fact, thinking the worst dressed list keeps growing every year, only a handful that actually look nice

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Good for Adele! She's very talented.

Watched the new episode of The Walking Dead last night and was not disappointed.

Karen

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I knew she was up for 6, and I told Brian I knew she would take 4 but I was ecstatic that she won all 6!!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

foregone conclusion it was her year

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Best ratings in years. No doubt because of Whitney.

Heard this song this morning and I can't get it out of my head!!!

Just watched The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Never thought I'd be interested in watching vampire and werewolf movies. Although, I was also surprised when I took the kids to see Benicio Torres and Anthony Hopkins in the werewolf movie.

Roses, I have gotten into the Twilight Saga myself, and I especially liked that last one. I have don't understand people who are obsessed by it, though, or by anything else for that matter. Maybe for the very young to be obsessed over something, as I've had my share of obsessions when I was young and impressionable. Can't see it now. I've become too realistic. I have my fave TV shows and such, but never bordering on obsession.

Karen

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

As a teen I wasn't obsessed by any show or group, I never waited overnight in line for tickets for a concert or video game. It's just craziness

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I had my obsessions, but never so bad I would wait in a line overnight for something. Craziness. I guess my obsessions were rather mild.
