my buddy's frat use to buy nitro canister's - never saw the point

I have a picture of the WOZ at a wax museum. I will post it. Thought about it for 2 years now. Now I am thinking GH.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sad to hear about Don Cornelius killing himself. Used to love Soul Train the the 70's.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Me too!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Going to see a movie today, Big Miracle, the one about the grey whales that get trapped in the ice. Looks like it will be good. Drew Barrymoore is in it. I've always liked her.

Is anyone here a Walking Dead fan? I love that show. Can't wait to the season to start up again this month. 8 more days.

Another show I've gotten into is Game Of Thrones on HBO. I've just finished watching the first season on demand. The new season starts in April. Excellent show!

I have also been watching Six Feet Under, which aired on HBO from 2000 to 2005. I'm currently on season 3.

I am picky about which movies I watch. I relented against my first impression of Bridesmaids and Midnight in Paris and rented them when I saw they had awards. I am always willing to give my prejudices a whirrl.
WHAT was I thinking?
WHAT a waste of time!!
I should have stayed with my first impression from the TV trailers.
AWFULL.I never finished either disc and awarded them 1 star on netflix.
Just to be sure about Big Mirecal I checked netflix.2 stars out of 5 isnt good enough for me.
I remember the news story when the whales were trapped. Rveryone cheered when they were set free.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i rented the first season of Damages with Glenn Close - we have blown through the first two disks - it is very good - Close must have some evil in her as some of her best roles have been in that type of character and she is doing a great job in this one - does not look like she is acting at all:)

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Jo, my impression of Brides Maids from the trailer wasn't good, either. Good to know it's not worth seeing, though I've had other people tell me they really liked it.

I enjoyed Big Miracle. Very well done, and a good family film. I don't remember hearing about the story when it happened.

Bill, I have not heard of Damages. Will have to check it out.

Today I might watch Deathrace.

Ben Gazzara died the other day.

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Just ordered "Damages" from Netflix, Wha. Looking forward to see it.....thanks for the info.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

will be waiting for your review roses hope you like it.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I could use a few ideas for DVD viewing. We rent them for free from the library, and have to start ordering from other libraries. I'm a sucker for good acting, and include Clooney and Sean Penn among my list that never fail to entertain. Themes with art and music are good too.

We saw Dead Again with Kenneth Branaugh and Emma Thompson, filmed and reviewed by Ebert in 1991. I wondered if it was a remake with some of the themes about hypnosis and second lives, but the chemistry between the stars (married in real life) made the ride it took us on really worthwhile.

We also loved Midnight in Paris, the first Woody Allen movie in years that got the angst and humor into the right mix. But you have to be in the mood for it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My English teacher friend liked Midnight. I will give it a try.

Rose, ever see a little movie called Waking Ned Devine? British. No famous actors. Very cute.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Waking 'Ned Devine' was right up there with 'Full Monty' and "Calender Girls".

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Loved Monty. Did not see Calendar Girls.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ugh Waking Ned Devine, there's a chunk of time I'll never get back

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You didn't like it?!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

no
guess I'm not into British humor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, that was a cute one on Sunday.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I also liked Waking Ned Devine.

I don't have any favorite movies, unless we talk genres. Then I'd say The Shining is positively the scariest movie of all time.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I love film noir. My wife and I are definitely old movie buffs. Our boys cringe when they see a B&W movie! We love musicals and comedies as well.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Love old movies...many many favorites, guess why my dogs name is Atticus...We had a Sabrina too!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOVE old movies

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My cousin is a big John Wayne fan and named his son John Wayne and his daughter Mary Kate!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Love Cary Grant, James Stewart, Betty Davis, Katherine Hepburn, Barbara Stanwyck, Gary Cooper...so many!

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Saw Waking Ned Devine years ago and really enjoyed it. It took me a few times to get used to British Humor and now I'm hooked.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

The Oscars get to decide soon about a modern silent film, all in black and white. I want to see the movie to see how they made it work.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I love Waking Ned Divine, as well as The Full Monty and Calendar Girls. All great movies. I love British humor.

Speaking of British humor, I just love Being Human on the BBC America (not the one on the Sci-Fi channel). It's a dark comedy about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost living as roommates and trying to be like normal people. Makes for some good stories.

I love a lot of the John Wayne movies. I think my most favorite was True Grit. Also loved The Cowboys very much.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Loved the tv series, As Time Goes By, with Judy Dench. Fawlty Towers, of course. Even Last of the Summer wine was very cute. So nice to see older actors and actresses used. And, of course, some of the Python movies like Life of Brian and Holy Grail. Classics.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I loved Time Bandits.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Never saw that one. Loved Fish Called Wanda!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I haven't seen that one, though I've had several people say how good it was.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hilarious, especially Kevin Kline.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I must have seen time bandits a dozen times when I was younger

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

My "Dont Bother " list is
Bridesmaides, potty humour and benieth a adult level.
"Midnight in Paris" I am off Woody Allen for ever.He hasnt done anything good since the 80's

Just viewed and loved it
"The Hour" BBC drama
"Page 8" Spy stuff
"Downton Abby" BBC Masterpiece period piece saga.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I feel the same way about Woody but many have said this one is finally decent.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I vaguely remember a Fish Called Wanda just know I hated it, only saw it cause a friend thought it was hilarious

Only British films I like are James Bond and Agatha Christie

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I must be spoiled with British spy programs that are cerebreal and fast moveing and clever. Woody just draggs on about the obvious. If I am supposed to be drawn in and experience the piece as a slice of life,I'm sorry. That tecnique for entertaining was over in the 80's.
His characters all have the same speach cadance as Woddys conversational style. I get tired of his angst and paranoia.

When the disc hit a snag half way thru I just took it out of the machine and returned it.I wasnt sufficiantly interested enough to wash it and continue viewing.

Victor, I like Kevin Kline. Did you ever see him in Dave? That was really good.

Today I watched Zookeeper with Kevin James. It's a hoot!
