And this Mallard didn't like our dogs watching them.

Another "lifer" this week-a Northern Harrier. My hubbie had to pull the car off the road when I spotted this one and by that time it was moving away from us.

I also went from two hummingbirds to at least 11 just before our windstorm hit yesterday. They didn't mind the feeder blowing sideways.

Congrats on the lifer duc! I love the Northern Harrier! So good to see a lot of hummingbirds!

Loving all the waterfowl, jays and whatever that strange Australian bird is. I doubt we have much for water fowl left around here. The water is turning pretty hard around here lately. I got this cormorant a couple weeks ago at a NWR refuge. When I used to hunt ducks and geese, I considered these things just plain ugly. Not anymore. :)

Nice pics. everyone. Elphy I meant to compliment you on photos of the Turkeys and failed to do so....I just loved them!!! Duc, it's indeed hard to keep up when we step away for a bit. Gosh how I love to see your Western Humminbirds and I'm so envious that you get to see them this late in the season. Thank you for sharing 'em. Burd, nice series as usual.

I finally have success on attracting Blue Birds to the feeder! Yes, for two days on a row now, they came for the meal worms and when they returned to beg for more... my heart melted. So I set out more treat of course!

Chillybean.....The red-bellieds so far this year are behaving themselves. The norm in years past has been come Sept. into Oct. there is a battle between the sexes and only one wins rights to the territory called our yard for the winter. Though there would occasional visits allowed in extreme weather. So hope I will be seeing both thru winter this year.

Lovely pics duc!

So glad I was able to get out and enjoy the sunshine we've had here the past 2 days with my b/f and the birds!
I am including one of my favorites...

Lily_love, I am so happy for you that the Bluebirds are coming to your new feeder. What a joy!
mnshutterbug, very nice picture of the Cormorant. We've only seen them from afar.
nanny, I hope your red-bellieds continue to get along. Yesterday and today, we only saw the male. I wish I could communicate to the birds that we'll have enough food for all and they should stop this territorial business. But they don't know that and do what is natural to them.
Cute little bluebird, Ladi_burd. We last saw some about a 1/4 mile from here.
