Oh, poor sweetie! My Suey does some things that make me wince, such as rolling off the sofa....

LOL!! Sorry but picturing both made me smile!
Harper is coughing less today but she is on medicine...she seems pretty tired but vet said the meds might do that. Kind of funny, she is getting laryngitis...a couple of times she would bark and no sound came out. Really looked comical!
Wow...never had a dog with laryngitis! Did have a dog with pneumonia though...my Norwegian elkhound...thought that would be the last breed to get it, but also heard of another that had it as well......
Talking about dogs running into stuff.
I first time I saw my dog chase a rabbit, maybe the first time he had ever chased one. He's running hard sort of keeping up, but not paying good attention to where he is going when the rabbit runs under a low branch. Sure enough he runs head first into a 2 " limb. Since he wasn't hurt it was funny.

Happy to hear Harper is doing better, Ronnie! Will still keep her (and you) in my prayers. Not typing much, but reading some threads and wanting to post. Lol
Nice to hear that Harper is doing better. Funny about the laryngitis. I never knew a dog to get it myself.
Those stories about dogs running into things are funny. I was with one of my special needs clients once at our office, and she walked right into the elevator. Since she didn't get hurt it was quite comical. She was embarrassed.

Funny story about running into things...
Hubby was installing the screen door for our new slider since we had installed the slider right before winter we never needed the screen until the summer, so right after he finishes I ask him if he thinks the dog will know it's there? not even 10 seconds later, full out run right thru the screen...well that answered my question...
so I then ask hubby "now what do we do?" he's taking the screen back to Home Depot, I'm like "no your not" "watch me", he says. I couldn't stand there with him during the return, but was within 10'. he goes to customer service says I'd like to return this door, employee says "what's wrong with it?" hubby says "looks like a dog ran thru it" she opens the box..."oh my gosh!!! sure enough does look like a dog ran thru it, there's even hair stuck in it! go get a new one"
I almost DIED when I saw him go get a new door, I could not keep a straight face and had to walk farther away from the return desk
LOL !!!
Doggie got into screen, the screen needs corporate upgrade to accommodate the reality of daily life (with dogs).
The manufacturer could have saved $$$ by testing the screen in a "real" home.
hd is really good taking returns!!
Jen, that is too funny!
Our friends have one of those dog/kid proof screens, you basically bounce right back off it....they had a Rottweiler- they needed it!
did it really work??.. I always wondered how it didn't pop out of the frame
Yeah, I LOVE IT, wanted hubby to get it here along with the screen door that slowly closes by itself...it's the most awesome thing EVER
Don't need one here. Don't have a slider.

cripes...now Atticus and Abby are coughing. I'm suspecting kennel cough just can't figure out where Harper picked it up (?) I'll call the vet on Monday to see if they need an antibiotic too.
There goes my seed fund!!
Aw thanks Celeste☺
Cyrus and patches look great!
Cyrus has grown! Patches looks like a sweet bunny.
all the cutie little babies!!!..
so sorry to hear that Ronnie.. can't you call the service and maybe get meds tomorrow?
Cyrus has lost his baby fat in his face. What a beauty he is! Do he and Patches get along ok? Patches is looking great.
Ronnie, our vet here says that kennel cough will go away on its own in time, just like colds go away in humans. You might give it a couple days to see if it clears up on its own. She leans towards less antibiotics - unless there is pneumonia involved, in which case the dogs will be very listless. If they are active, and a cough is their only symptom, ( and their noses are not dry), they may kick it on their own. I hope so!
Hope your dogs will be okay, Ronnie. That's a bummer.
Cyrus is looking handsome. Poor baby misses his buddy. I'm not surprised that he loves the snow.
Patches will have to have her cyst removes. It keeps leaking, and now is leaking in more than one spot. This is just too gross. I'll call the vet tomorrow and make an appointment. That'll be a few hundred dollars.
Karen
Good luck with the cyst clean-out; at least it's located where it can't be licked, since that's a frequent problem.
Anyone want a hamster? Massachusetts has plenty!!

imagine that stink!!
Hope your dogs are OK, Ronnie....and Karen, I know I'll have to have Suey's growth removed one of these days! Cyrus looks so happy in the snow...my elkhound used to love the snow as well......
My HollyCat has one of those growths, too. It is just growing a little bit, but if I resort to her having dentistry (as opposed to chewing on a lot of chicken gizzards) it will come off then. I'm not cheaping out on the dentistry, there is real danger with the anesthetic and a sleeping animal having water running in their mouth and possible infection.
Appointment was made with the vet tomorrow at 11:20. Will let you guys know how it goes. Don't know if they will remove it right away or schedule for another day.
Karen
Take away his food and water after midnight so they can do the surgery tomorrow if they have time and save you a trip to the vet.
Good luck, Patches!
good luck Patches!!!
Healing thoughts for Patches today!
Sorry to hear that Karen, good luck today!
Thanks everyone. I didn't think about that fact that she couldn't eat before having it done. Too late now. I'll have to go back. Will be going over there shortly.
Karen
They can give her something to make her empty her stomach - or they might be able to do it without a general anesthetic.
I was wondering if maybe they could do a local anesthetic. It's a small area.
Karen
Good luck to Patches!
Well, Patches will be getting the cyst removed, so I made the appointment for next week. The estimate is nearly $700, and for just today alone I paid about $125. There goes my plans for getting new plants. I was checking out daylilies and adding some to my wish list (ones that were within my price range). Now I'm pretty bummed, but what can you do?
Karen
Bummer. Sorry, Karen.
