Whats going on with my cherries

I am sorry but I posted a reply to another question before realizing what I had done.

My question was about cherry trees. Last year I bought 2 dwarft cherry trees (the purple ones) and 1 of them had very small cherries, they looks like the small wild cherries and the other tree had none. What is happening, could they have accediently shipped me wild cherries and why would 1 of the have fruit (if you can call it that) and the other have none?
Also the cherries were tart and bitter, could they be lacking something from the soil, I just sent off some soil samples.
