I attempted to start a thread here, and some other less popular places, on the how's and why's of getting "banned" (bots, monitors, forbidden html tags, accelerators, your ISP, your e-mail etc.) but few were interested. (A few women in AZ whose ISP used an accelerator that got them banned did respond.)

Did you know??? Ford is sueing some webmaster who was banning undesirables to Ford. I'm guessing, from something I found that Disney may have once been part of the venture capitol outift that helped GW back about '97 or before.

Welcome to DG! I really enjoy trading seeds with lots of people however my recent trades to South America went bust. It wasn't the fault of the trader but for some reason my rather large seeds trades were held up and returned to me months later by the postal service down there. Sadly, I had really wanted to trade with those few people that I arranged things with and it didn't work out. Not only didn't we exchange seeds but I lost a decent amount of money to mail out my envelopes, only to have them returned. Thank goodness, though, the seeds weren't lost but it left an impression about foreign trading.
The people here are very friendly and I'm sure that you'll line up many trades from generous people. It's great that you're sharing your garden with others.

Cristina, wellcome :-) I wonder why, when trading with people from USA they don't put USA at the last line of address? Same as I would write my address like:

Myhomestreet 1 a
00100 Espoo

and no country... when I started seed swapping I wondered does she live in canada or USA... :-)

I was never a part of gw? but i have heard lots of folks say they were banned for silly reasons?
that is ashame,,that is how i feel about the chat room closing here,,,it was silly reasons,,,,

I sincerely believe that there is way too much concern here over the other "site". This is our home, our place of reuge. No one has to stay here who doesn't want to. We have a special atmosphere and way of doing things.
If you do not agree with us you are entirely free to visit elsewhere. God

I'm sorry Eyes but I REALLY resent that. What do you mean you have a special way of doing things and if we don't like it we can leave? I don't think that is it at all. What if I had said that to YOU. Everyone is welcome and all who stay, stay because they have found a niche. There is alot of DG you probaly never even interact with and they do things very different from your little group. You have only been around since the middle of June so there is a lot to learn. I have been here since August and everything has grown and changed in ways you cannot even imagine. We ALL have to grow and change and be able to let others experience this place for themselves NOT your way or the highway.

Hi kids, from all the hubub I just read, I feel really lucky to have stumbled into DG first. Sure sounds like some of you are really upset at this other site. Just be thankful we have this great site to vent, share, and get to know each other...I SURELY am :-)

Bicker,bicker, bicker. Sounds like little kids fighting back and forth here. Lets move on people. I always feel, if a person doesn't have something nice to say than don't say nothing at all.
Let's just put all the differences aside and quit complaining about someone else or about some other site. Don't worry,be happy that you are here at Dave's Garden. Life is just too short to be bickering about something that is so petty. Let us ALL work together and make this a wonderful home to be at. This sure is my home away from home. I have never had sooooo many friends than what I have here at Dave's Garden.Make Peace,Not War!
