I have brushes also Betty!
5th Annual DG Christmas Craft Workshop....all invited
Dianne, I "think" it is a very tiny thin bristled brush for doing "lining" when painting an object, like lettering.
I am sure the ladies will correct me if I am guessing wrong.
Dianne, don't worry your pretty head about a liner brush, one will be in your box!
Had a wonderful kind friend Carol, several years younger than I who had a studio for painting..she would come for lessons in painting with heat set Genesis from me..within a 4 period she had brain cancer and passed away...she had her hubby give me a good portion of her supplies, including brushes..she asked if I ever came across acquaintances that might like to paint to please pass them on, have done so over the years..
Hi, all.
Betty, Glad to hear the envelope made it to you! Also, I checked with my husband about the paint brush. He says we have a liner brush, so you don't need to send me one.
Am I correct that you have not posted the pictures of the wreathes yet? I can't see, so I want to be sure I don't miss the pictures when posted :) Anyway, when you post them, I'll have my husband describe them to me so I can pick which I want.
Thanks, Thunder... Was looking for a saying that works for Christmas but is also good all year, and something that fit the craft but also reminds me of gardening and nature :)
Liz, I just noticed that you're in San Mateo. That's not all that far from where I'm at :)
Have a blessed day, everyone!
Michelle
Michelle you are up early or to bed late. No did not post as yet, did say I would didnt I?
Will go do so?
Michelle, pardon my boldness, do you have poor eyesight ? It makes it even more precious that you have joined in our Christmas workshop...God bless!!
Betty those wreaths(sp) look beautiful!! If I had to choose I would prefer the right one (all in red) with the little stars.
I like both of them, may I have one of each please?
package them up this evening
Betty may I pleasae have the 1 on the right with the stars. Gettin very excited about this project!
Dianne
Just had a brilliant idea..all depends where you will put this candle holder!!!
the entire candle holder is first painted black..then the front is crackled and painted golden yellow..sides, back stays black BUT, big BUT if you knew it would be on a mantle or on a shelf etc, you could do one side to reflect country saying and opposite side to turn around for Christmas...
Like that idea
What a great idea Betty. That way we can look at it all year.
I like the way you think!!!! One side for Sean on his and two sides on mine!!!! Heehee
Michelle! I just noticed that you're from Mountain View, I'm originally from Modesto, spent the first 33 1/2 years of my life there (I'm 39 now)
Betty I'm not on the list above, I mailed your check out yesterday, hopefully it will get to you this week.
Crissy added you to the list, had one boxed for you..not sure what happened..lol
OK, this workshop is almost in your hands..
This morning I've got 90% of the kit in a box ready for posting
Here at work I've done the lettering as per your preference (sending a few sizes for you to pick from
Got the card/label ready for shipping
Now I need a nap lol
Tonight, I'll get all the little viles of crackle, yellow/gold and the finish done..insert pattern and wrap..by golly, elves work hard in my neck of the woods
LOL! I wanted a saying and I know I posted it here when I signed up but I don't remember what it was, nor can I find the post ggrrrrrr
There it is! Thank you Thea!!!
Betty, are you going to tell us how to finish these? You said they are painted black, then the crackle finish. Where does the yellow, gold come in? And the lettering?
LK she does that in a step by step form after we all have received our boxes. She usually sets up a date where most of us can be online working on our project at the same times.
yes, as soon as you have your box, going to get you to paint all black then we are ready for the step1 / step 2 etc.
Oh yeah! Betty I have a brush.
Ok, just want to make sure you have a liner type brush..will post photo tonight to that if you don't I'll include one
I have one
I have the brushes you gifted to me last summer. Was there a liner brush there?
Edited to add ---can we use one of those foam brushes to do the black?

Yes you can Barb, and yes imagine there was a liner brush..as to the question free handing, no problem, you won't be...but you will have to paint between the lines. Lol. Maybe do some practicing in coloring books till your kit arrives. Lol
michelle lol yep your not to far at all im always down there at walmart
Wouldn't it be lovely Liz/Michelle if you could meet up, have a McCafe coffee??
Hi, all.
Stopping by briefly... up late again...
Had my husband describe the wreathes to me. They both sound nice, but if you still have any of the one on the right, with the stars, that would go nicely with my saying :)
Betty, I can't see at all (except for some light perception). But I love doing crafts. For a while, the women's ministries at my church was hosting some craft nights. Got to try all kinds of things. I'd do as much as I could, and others would help when I needed assistance (like touching up the spots I missed when painting or helping with the hot glue gun when we needed to use it for one project).
Hi, Liz :) I know right where that Walmart is... Several buses stop near there :)
Crissy, small world, isn't it? LOL May I ask what prompted your move to Arkansas?
All right, better go for now. Have a great day, everyone!
Michelle
Michelle, just packed up your box...all ready to go
Both on Barb and Sean's..so hope I can get packaged before having to leave for work..best I get going

Michelle my husband's family is split, his dad's side here in AR and his mom's side in CA. His dad drove long haul truck across the country and brought a group of kids with him every summer (Dave's the 5th of 6.) Dave came back here when he was around 10 years old and stayed until him and his best friend moved to Houston to find work when they were 17. From there Dave went into the Army at 19 years old for his 3 years and when he got out he stayed in CA to work, but when I met him he was ready to move back here and I had been trying to get out of CA my whole life so we got married in Tahoe in 2006 and moved back here April of 2007. He's 12 1/2 years older than me so there's a big age difference.
Drats, can't believe my long post went into cyberspace! big sigh...
This morning I was able to get both Dianne and Thea's kits in the mail this morning, wouldn't get too excited you two, likely be 10 days to 2 weeks before it is in your hands.
Had a bit of a discussion with the postal worker, sending within our province should not be so high..but understand, however what I DO NOT understand is why on earth after telling you the cost of posting do they tell you there is an additional fee for 'FUEL SURCHARGE' what is with that, never heard of us doing it on top of regular postal charges...shaking my head..no wonder they are putting themselves out of business..I'll be checking alternatives next time I post within Canada
OK sorry, no more venting lol
Big storm going on out there, not a happy camper!
About the kits, know it was 4:00 a.m. I was packaging all the kits..was very/very careful to put all in the boxes that should have been in the boxes..
But no sooner did I tape them up with 1/2 roll of tape did I second guess myself..did I add this? did I add that?
So dear friends, don't be discouraged if you get your kit and something is missing, I'll get it to you ASAP!
Likely nothing is, just me, worry wart lol
3 are sitting to be wrapped with white shipping paper..all put together so maybe 1/2 hr. worth of work and they will be ready to take to Buffalo.
Thank you Betty!! You are awesome!!! ^_^
Fuel charges? Seems like they are always adding more taxes to everything! I would be mad too!
Sounds to me like someone is "padding their pockets" with fuel charges for the post office!
Betty, I looked this up for you......shouldn't be ANYTHING seperate:
3 Fuel Surcharge
A fuel surcharge may apply to Parcel Services. The fuel surcharge is included in the prices for prepaid products. Consult
canadapost.ca/fuelsurcharge for more details.
I will check it out Debbie, made my blood boil when I saw how much your postal fees are and the quick service you get to have to pay it..
Is was a parcel so mabe that is why I never noticed it ring up before..ridiculous if you ask me!
Thea, got your envelope tonight, thanks...
