I just today joined as a member here, so if this question has been answered previously, please forgive me for a duplicate post. (I've searched and searched but I don't see this question being asked yet.)
I just received Thuja Green Giant trees in 3" pots, supposedly 18"-24" tall. I am in northern Alabama, zone 7 I think. The forecast is for light frost this weekend (lowest temp. predicted is 35 and that is the lowest predicted for the rest of October).
Will it be ok for me to transplant these trees this weekend. I'm concerned that the longer I wait, the colder the weather will be getting and I'm thinking to go ahead and transplant this weekend.
What do you recommend?
Thanks
Transplanting Thuja Green Giant and Frost
I'd go ahead and transplant. I suspect in your area fall is a good time for planting/transplanting things, and since Thuja is hardy to zone 5 I wouldn't worry about a little bit of light frost.
Thanks for your answer, ecrane3. I'll take you advice and go ahead and plant them this weekend. Thanks again.
