Wha, hate to hear that you had JM damage.
Here are more shots or things still blooming. Makes me happy. I have some big clumps of perennial chrysanthemums that still are looking good too, but forgot to take pictures of them. We worked outside all day. Fabulous weather. Patti
Garden photos #19
Thanks so much for posting your blooms & trees Patti, Bill, Pixie, Jo, & Allison...very cheering! Meredith, your place looks like mine....the mighty oaks were felled in this storm because they still had leaves.....about the only thing blooming now is Rozeanne geranium.....
We lost a cedar in the blow, which is now all cut up to burn in the wood stove. Thankfully all my ugly little cages held up around the Jmaples and no deer damage yet.
Robindog, Sorry about your damage too. I cut back a blooming geranium today , but it was looking too ragged to keep. Love them.
flowajen, too cute! Patti
Thanks, Patti....sorry about the cedar....That last photo is very pretty! And Jen, love your display...
yes love the display Jen.. bitty mum is too funny
Jen your decorations are very nice :) I soo wish they would put in underground utilities! Not only does it keep things looking nicer it would prevent a lot of problems! Patti your garden looks beautiful and I'm sorry about your cedar.
Bill I'm sad you lost trees and JM branches :(
the way things have been flooding here.. not sure that would be best for our area.. I was very lucky during Irene and did not loose power even though there was flooding all around the area
I never thought of flooding. I wonder what happens if the wires are flooded? I guess I thought they were waterproof.
That IS a ton of blooms!!!! Very pretty!
No, but I think mud wasps made the mess on your shed....glad you still have some blooms....like Pixie, only my house plants are in bloom, & a few lonely pansies....
I thought wasps too
Attack of the birds!!!!! Oh my!!! I don't think I've seen so many birds in our yard....Taking this out of the downstairs window and too bad under the deck, I think if I would have opened the slider upstairs it would have scared them all away, as it is something did and 2 yards loaded with birds took flight all at once. Never seen anything like it. Def would have been some poop on me if I was out there!!!!
Look like grackles.....probably headed south....
I agree with ROBIN .Hopefully they are feeding on grubs and crabgrass seed.
Yes....I didn't think of that!
Yep all grackles...hopefully ate some bugs and weed seeds!!!! Trying to get in my birdfeeders but they couldn't
glad my grackles left and went by you instead.. LOL
Glad they were only here about 5mins!
Wow! I don't know how I overlooked this thread!!! Thanks to all of you for making me homesick with so many gorgeous blooms throughout this thread, including Allison's Picasaweb where I loved the agastache and the pink dahlias!! Jen, you had several pretty shots and I love the combo of the blue agastache and white mums! Meredith, my fav of yours is that shot with the JM that Bill ID'd. That's a lovely grouping of different textures and shades! Bill, those rock flowers are awesome!! How did you get them to stay on the sticks? As usual your fall colors on your dogwoods and JMs were so pretty, and I hate hearing that you lost some of your trees!! Celeste, I'm amazed that you have kept your million bells going so long! I just bought a basket of the light purple doubles. I love them because they hold up well down here too! Patti - your collage is such a nice collection of pretty shades of color. Wow, you guys! I'll try to share some from here shortly! So glad to see you back, Meredith!!
I think I promised a "before and after" taming of our puppy yard jungle that greeted us when we arrived. Here is a collage that shows the jungle a month ago and the current view. On the left in each row is the before of the view and on the right is how it looks now. Hard to tell it's the same place. LOL
Well, for some reason, the Picasa collage didn't come out as a JPEG, so I'll have to show you one photo at a time. Sorry!
