Ninja Mutant BLUEBERRIES?

Arlington, VA

I had two blueberry bushes on my balcony -- one died. The other one had nothing but leaves until late September -- then it bore flowers and then green berries that are slowly turning blue. But the flowers do not look like blueberry flowers -- so what is happening here? I know they are not self-pollinating.....

Don't think I'd want to eat those . Never saw blueberries that grew like that . Hope someone else can help with information .

Solanum? It looks very suspicious.

Definitely Solanum; the fruit of many Solanum sp. has some toxicity.

Many Thanks. I did a Google Search too -- It is Solanum Nigrum -- most definitely.
"Used in jams..and pies..." ? Hmmm...Not by me -- it is Black Nightshade...

Check with your county extension office. They are always very helpful in identifying plants.
