Thanks for the link, Kathy.

I have broccoli growing in one cleaned-up tomato bed, and I moved more broccoli transplants to an empry melon bed this morning.

I keep wanting to clean-up the other tomato bed, but it keeps producing tomatoes!

Both of these are great sites , and thank you for both, I've already done this but it would be good to pass these along...If I don't chat with you before have a Happy Holiday.

Honeybee, I think that's the hard part of gardening not enjoying the fruits of your labor, but when Veggies are still growing I can't turn the garden over even though the veggie's aren't mature, so I just keep putting in new garden's , LOL, number 5 just went in....I think soon my entire property will soon be a garden....

MrPappyG - I have a similar problem. The summer vegetables occupy the beds into late October, but I need to start the winter garden in August or September!

We are trying to eliminate the running bamboo that is invading about a third of our backyard so we can put in a permanent winter vegetable garden.

Glassboro, NJ

Honeybee, I've noticed that too we have this invasive Bamboo that has shown up over the last few Year's where it came from I have no Idea, but it seem's to be everywhere in New Jersey, I'll Probably have garden 6 in by the weekend...LOL...soo much to Grow.

MrPappyG - our running bamboo showed up one spring in the South West corner of our backyard! I think the devil planted it!

Glassboro, NJ

Do you remember how long ago it was Honeybee..??? I'm just curious, I've talked to few other's some on other site's this may be an Invasion...not sure ...

Charlotte, NC(Zone 7b)

MrPappy - we moved here in the fall of 2006 - so running bamboo must have showed up in the spring of 2007. I suspect someone (perhaps the previous homeowner) threw out a potted bamboo and it took off.

Plantersville, TX(Zone 9a)

I have come up with a good idea. Why not ha ve a spring garden and a winter garden, giving you 2 gardens. PappyG, I"m wondering why you need 6 gardens. I suppose its because the others aren't big enough? Just wondering.

Quoting:
Why not have a spring garden and a winter garden

This is what hubby and I are planning - but we have to get rid of the running bamboo first. There are also trees in the proposed winter area, but because they lose their leaves in the fall, we are hoping there will be enough light for a winter garden.

But on Dec. 28, tonight as I prepped Dinner, I went out and dug the potato's for Garlic Roasted Mashed, I ground the meat (FREE RANGE ANGUS), Picked the celery, carrot's for mire poix, used my Ground Beefsteak Tomato's for Sauce, with fresh basil and rosemary from the garden window, and Organic rice for the Best Stuffed Pepper Dinner with Mashed Potato's, you can ever Imagine, while waiting for my Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream to harden in the refrigerator, in other word's I made my 89 Year Old Mother-in-Law cry again, so I gave her a hug and a Kiss and told her she was welcome anytime...
