Can you identify my plants?

Lincoln Village, OH

I've recently adopted houseplants as a new hobby (more like addiction lol)
My sister who is already into growing gave me an unknown. Neither one of us knows its name or species. It's very nice, it was a chew toy for her six cats for a while but it's repaired very nicely since being at my place. I'd like to know how to care for it specifically. Can anyone tell me what this is? It looks to me like a member of the bamboo family, or dracaena. It resembles a branch of "Lucky Bamboo". It has the bumpy stalk with the same type of leaf growth, except the leaves are striped on the outer edges like zebra grass. I just recently made the plant stand up with a stake. It was leaning for the last month so the top growth is crooked, growing in the direction of my window. I'd like to snip that crooked piece off and propagate it for a new plant and to fix the old one's appearance. It did this very rapidly just as lucky bamboo would. I water it when the soil dries out and have kept it in direct western light, which doesn't appear to harm it (no sunburn). I've also fed it a stick of Miracle Grow houseplant food. It appears to be growing in regular dirt, not anything store-bought. There is a tiny sprout growing next to it, this started recently so I must be doing something right to be promoting new growth.

There is also another unknown type growing next to it, it has a grassier appearance and was practically destroyed by the cats. Its growing back nicely. Green, red tipped spines growing from it now, looks like thin grass. I know I've seen this plant before but can't see it (like the other one) in any directories. Sorry for the book but please tell me what these guys are so I can have some fun with them! Thanx in advance.

It looks like you have a Dracaena. Possibly, 2 different kinds.

And welcome to Dave's! You'll have tons of fun here.

Hi,your plant is a Dracaena Sanderiana (lucky bamboo) and the other one in the pot is a Dracaena Marginata(dragon tree)I would put them in separate pots, they will grow better.

I know what you mean about plant addiction lol,I suffer from it too lol.

Wow I feel silly now! I knew that Lucky Bamboo was just a form of Dracaena, I should have looked up those species and put 2+2 together. Thank you for your help and thank you for the welcome!

After some comparison on different sites, these are the different types.

Warneck dracaena (Dracaena deremensis ‘Warneckii’)

Red-edged dracaena (Dracaena marginata)

I think I should separate the two plants, I am not so sure if the two of them living in the same pot will look right when they're both mature. Any repotting or propagation advice? If I snip off that crooked top piece, will I cause harm to the main warneck (stunt its growth)? I have snipped a large stem of lucky bamboo into several pieces and gifted them to friends, I was told by sis that I can just stick the stems into soil, store in a humid enviroment for a few days and the roots will grow on their own without rooting powder or water soaking. Can the same simple ruse apply to my warneck?

Rules* lol
Evie, I am certain the bamboo is not the same as my plant in question, it seems to be the Warneck. These are my lucky bamboo plants. They look the same in form but not in color/pattern. The leaf shape is a little different too, bamboo leaves are longer and slimmer. Thanks though :)

They aren't really bamboo. If you snip the other part off, it won't hurt the plant any. Just make sure the side shoots are well established before you do. Make sure you're feeding them well, too. Being in those little pots, they run out of nutrients quickly.

I know dear, as I mentioned above, I'm aware that these are dracaena. These are awaiting gifting.
