We planted this small tree about 2 years ago and I notice earlier this spring a gummy ooze from it. I saw small ants at the bottom so I sprayed it and didn't see anymore but the bark is coming off even worse. It looks like 2 trees together "taped" together inside the bark. I have 2 pics to share. I am not sure of the exact type of cherry but it did have quite a bit of fruit on it that the birds ate, which is what we planted it for too. I do know it is the type of cherry that doesn't need another cherry tree to produce fruit. Any help appreciated. Also, it does get a little dry during the summer.
