Help! My Desert Rose has something on it!

Dyersburg, TN

I just noticed that my Desert Rost has a white sticky, and almost web like, matter on it.
What could this be?
I can't see anything crawling on it, if it does it is way too small for me to see.
Please help me identify this and tell me what needs to be done. I don't want to lose my Desert Rose :(

Hi.

At the risk of being woefully wrong, I would say those are mealybugs. This link to the University of Florida's database explains control methods:

If they are mealybugs, act quickly because those things suck the juices out of the leaves. You may lose the infected leaves, but I don't foresee you'll lose the whole plant and adeniums are great survivors. Best of luck with all that.

You are correct. Those are mealy bugs.

Sylvain has made such great observation and had plan of treatment. Candice, hurry. I don't like those pests. Ants are their symbiotic cohorts, ants will help spread those mealybugs to other plants in the garden. Act quick.
