Hi Everyone: I'm new to the website. JasperDale recommended DG to me, and I'm thrilled! I'm having a problem with my catmint being attacked by white flys. I've cut them all back to the ground (3 very large ones). With the cold coming in zone 9a, will that take care of them, or do I need to dig them out? That will be a challenge with the size of the root ball these three monsters became. No white flys on others I have (yet?). I live on 4 acres with my gardens surrounding my house. More than enough to keep me busy! Thanks!!!-Melquist
White Flys Attacking My Nepeta
I would clean up any debris around the plant to make they are not overwintering in the soil. I don't think you should have to dig them out. Just keep an eye on them when the push new growth so if the return you can nip em in the bud.
Thanks for the info. I'll go make sure there are no clippings remaining, keep the sticky yellow card there for a bit longer, and watch for Spring growth.
