Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

It is pouring outside! Yesss!!!!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

Drizzlin FW to loop 12, traffic is super confused, Drizzlin steady in s Arlington, temps nice. Here i am rain, listen earth to gentle drops, kiss parched lips with sweet tears... Here I am,

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Radar shows a pretty good rain North of I30. South side of Dallas got about 25 sprinkles. Hopefully it is not all gone.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

So glad to hear the rains spread to other areas today. I got a total of just over 1 inch over the two days.. it was wonderful. I have managed to save about 80 gallons of water for my plants so they will be happy for a good while.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Proud for you. Rain is so much better than city water.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I hope you get some Christi.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

I luv the smell of rain, I think I forgot how good it smelled.

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

It is raining in Irving ....

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Austin proper got a dribble of rain for a few seconds. Better than we expected. So happy with that!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Praise the Lord!!

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

I think we got enough rain to make things green up I hope so.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Just took a stroll. Very strange. The flowerbed on the South side of the house is totally dry. ???? Everything else looks so refreshed. Heard the thunder about 10 pm but didn't realize it rained until this morning. Rain gauge froze last winter and we haven't replaced it so no idea how much actually fell. Just praising God for any rain at all. Hope everyone gets a share.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

It rained enough here that there was standing water in the feed bowls.

LouC-in Tx it can rain on one side of the house/fence and not the other.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

I was sitting in South Dallas last night watching the raindrops, I think Lou, you caught the edge of the cloud...it didn't rain hard, just steady and rivulets were running down the slope past me, but it did seem to run the I30 corridor more than I20, and where I was, was at I20 and I45 split, walking in it never got me more than damp.. Little drops of water, tiny grains of sand, make the mighty ocean and the pleasant land, there were puddles even so.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I live 1/2 mile west of 35E, 5 miles south of I20. The area you were in, Kit, is not known to be where the best of the best hangout. In fact, we kind of hurry through there. Were you really walking there?

I am thankful for the rain we received and would be even happier if we had a rain again tonight.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

It was a little cooler out today. We took a short road trip over to Pasadena TX to go to the 99cent only store and on the way back it sprinkled, barely enough to even run the blades to clear the windshields. There is supposed to be a small chance of rain all week, so we will take any we can get!

We also ate out at Kelley's Country Cooking on Spencer! I had large fried shrimp. DS had chicken fried steak. It was wonderful! Then we went shopping.....bought all kinds of stuff. New pot holders, dish towels, BBQ tools for dear sister's bf. He loves to BBQ! Also bought one of those Seen on TV Clever Cracker........for 99cent I can handle that. Haven't tried it yet. It's supposed to crack eggs with no mess! Dearest granddaughter will love it. Got birthday cards for DD (my baby girl), and youngest granddaughter. She will be 13. Unbelievable!

Got all kinds of stuff....a new remote for my VCR player. Anyway it was a great day!
Came home and mopped the kitchen floor, so this next week I will be zapped again. One good day means being down for three to five days.......not a fair trade! Oh well.

With the weather cooling down I will hurt less, so that will help alot, and is sincerely appreciated! Praise the Lord!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes, Am quite well aware of the reality of where I was - but we have a sort of 'semi security' Lou, the place was even worse 2 yrs ago than now, chuckl, my job sends me constantly in and out of those kinds of areas, from Hunts Point, NY to Philadelphia, Pa to Los Angelos, Ca even Dallas, Houston, Miami, and the rules we are forced to bide by-mean we are constantly in danger, both our loads and lives, it is a different kind of job, and those who do it can also walk both sides of many fences. Then there are the wide open western skies and drivers who still help each other at a different pace.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Without the kind of moxey you, and countless others, have Kit, our nation would be a very different place. Our food and almost all other goods move on our interstate highways. God Bless You.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

Home sweet home, sad at what has happened and those who are now homeless without enuff jobs to support an insurance company, loss of firestations and volunteer fireman who work to save our homes while theirs burn, found mostly to be pranks, this is about 2 miles from the house on the way home this morning-I didnt aim the camera across the street to the family out scraping up the remains of their home, tho they live along the road...still no rain here to speak of

I feel almost guilty to report that I received a thunder shower of rain last night. Amount was barely measurable but it did add about 20 more gallons to my new rain barrel. I still had to turn on my sprinklers last night since it was my night to water and my yard would not have lasted until saturday but I did turn down the time watered. Daytime temps are also cooler so everything is looking less miserable.. little blessings. I feel so sorry for those who are having to sift through what is left of their homes. It is so terrible.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Hard to understand why......

My blessings are too many to count and none of them have a $ sign with them.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I wish I had the $$'s so I could share them with those in need.. ... I honestly know that would make me so happy to be able to do that.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Me, too. Have been retired for 5 years and social security and the stock market has not been kind. Still, I have my home and my family, and most of all my health at almost 70. I am blessed.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

We are very blessed as well......I am blessed that when my A/C went out yesterday I called the warranty company and the repairman came out today on a Sunday to fix it! I am so thankful! It was very hot even with the windows open and fans going.

However, we are very blessed to have a home when there are so many who have lost theirs in the fires, floods, earthquakes everywhere.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I live in Dallas County. Went out way before 9AM this morning and came in at 10AM because I thought I was having a heat stroke. It just goes on and on and on and on and on and........no rain, no rain, no rain......no

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

me too ... still hot no rain ... water restrictions and CRACKS in the soil ...

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

103 ATM supposed toe the last day of the heat, but they've been saying that for weeks.

Trenton(close to), TX(Zone 8a)

My high for Thursday was 100 degrees. I am still a little bit stressed from the heat of this summer. I got too hot several times this summer. That just proves that sometimes old does not equal wise. It is the starting point that is important.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Got a terrible tease last night. Lightning and thunder for about an hour. NOT ONE DROP OF RAIN AND NONE IN THE FORECAST. whine

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

It did rain finally here. Maybe for 30 minutes and lots of thunders and lighting. Actually it was a pretty good show.
My 110 gal. rain barrels are full now.

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Not one drop in the past week. Pool has just enough water in the bottom to keep the dragonflies happy. :(

Trenton(close to), TX(Zone 8a)

There was a heck of a lighting show to the south. Lots of ground strikes. It was so far south the thunder was faint. The north wind did blow pretty hard.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

"They" are predicting another NINE YEARS OF DROUGHT based on a study of tree rings. Already on my knees praying that God in the Heavens will not let this happen. Join me now.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

If get down on my knees you'll have to help me get up, i'm definitely praying tho this summer was bad enough. Where did you read that?

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

We had a light show AND RAIN! Yeah! It has finally cooled off some. It is so nice out!
Supposed to be in the mid 80's for a few days! YEAH!

We will pray for rain for you Christi! We will not accept any more drought! No Way!

Jeanne
